This was a great place for our family of four. The location is outstanding and close to everything you need while being in the forest. The water was incredibly close and out of all the beaches we visited, the one closest to this place (basically across the road) was the best. The hosts were great to work with, super positive and very thoughtful. You can tell, as soon as you walk in, that the Scuba Shack is a well loved getaway with great vibes. We will be back! Our family of 4 had a wonderful stay at this cozy, relaxing gem of a property from July 4-10, 2019. From the moment we booked the vacation through until we left, we found the owners quick to respond to questions we had & the property was well-stocked with local travel information to help us explore the area. The cottage was clean & very well-equipped with all the things you might need, including sand toys for the kids, a fully-stocked spice rack in the kitchen, board games, movies, & robes to help you get to and from the hot tub without getting chilled. We also slept fantastic in those comfy beds after a evening dip in the hot tub. Although the weather was a bit wet during our stay which prevented us from using the space to its fullest, this cottage boasts great outdoor living space with lovely large deck space, lounge chairs, dining table, BBQ, and the propane fire pit. Another reviewer had commented on the proximity of the neighbouring properties - yes they are close but we never really heard or saw anyone & the lush trees around the yard made it feel very secluded & private. This was our first visit to the Sunshine Coast so we hoped to stay somewhere central which would allow us to easily travel around. This location worked great. We were a short drive to Sechelt for gas & groceries. We were able to take in a zodiac boat tour near the property, golfed in Sechelt, hiked the Skookumchuck Narrows trail, hiked Cliff Gilker park, beachcombed at Porpoise Bay Park, and toured Gibsons & some of the smaller communities up the coast. We had the best time & there is so much left to see that we will definitely be back. In fact, our kids wanted to move in permanently!

We really enjoyed our stay and would strongly recommend it . The accommodations were perfect .

A lovely quiet and cozy getaway for 4. Many kitchen amenities as well as a gazebo fire pit and hot tub to soothe away any aches and pains from the hiking or biking all day. Easy access to the Sunshine Coast area. We will definitely be back, thank you

Had a very relaxing 2 night stay at the Scuba Shack. The cottage was very well equipped. The hot tub and semi automatic espresso were our favourite features. Great location: close to walking trails and close to beach access. Thank you Jonathan for sharing your piece of paradise.

We had a wonderful time enjoying this well-equipped cottage - was so impressed that they had thought to provide a few plastic plates and bowl, plus toddler spoons. So often there are only ceramic plates or bowls and meal time becomes me worrying that my independent toddler is going to break something. Everything was so clean and tidy. The hot tub was lovely out on the deck - and felt very private even though the neighbours are relatively close. Jonathan was easy to get in touch with when we had a few small questions, and was a very welcoming host. We thoroughly enjoyed getting away from it all!

We really enjoyed our stay. The cabin is very well equipped, we especially enjoyed the hot tub, wood fire place and the barbecue. Everything you would need is there.

I am living in Tennessee, while my girlfriend is currently living in Washington. We were trying to find creative ways to spend time together when I came up to visit recently. After deciding on a weekend getaway, the search began for a cabin/cottage in just the right area. Eventually, we discovered the Scuba Shack and, (maybe mostly because my girlfriend was very excited about the hot tub!) decided it fit the bill. Jonathan was immediately very communicative and friendly and made us feel like we had certainly made a good decision. When we arrived, after nearly boarding the wrong ferry and winding up in Nanaimo, we were greeted by a welcome card from Jonathan and his wife and an absolutely beautiful cottage. The location is borderline-indescribably beautiful. Thanks to suggestions from Jonathan's several travel guides, and tips from the locals, my partner and I explored what we discovered to be one of the most breathtakingly gorgeous areas we had ever been to. I cannot emphasize this enough, THIS AREA IS ABSOLUTELY STUNNING. We also ate some magnificent cuisine, and drank some delicious local brews. Occasionally, we just relaxed in the hot tub and enjoyed each other's company. This trip was one we will never forget. My girlfriend and I will without question be returning to the Scuba Shack in the future. I cannot praise Jonathan enough for his hospitality and fantastic communication. Any question I had was responded to punctually and respectfully, and my girlfriend and I truly felt at home in the Scuba Shack.

Jonathan was an amazing host. The cabin was set up beautifully, and had everything we needed for a family getaway. I especially appareciated the playpen and highchair being provided, and my kids loved having their own personal swimming pool (hot tub). The extra touches were amazing- wonderful espresso machine, well-stocked fire place, movies, board games and welcome card and gift. Jonathan was quick to respond to all our emails and questions. A huge thank you to our host & we will definitely be back.

This was a beautifully peaceful place to stay, very thoughtfully well-suited to the needs of visitors with allergies and sensitivities of all kinds. My 13-year-old daughter and I have celiac disease, asthma, and various allergies that make it challenging to eat and sleep away from home. The kitchen here was ideally outfitted for people who need to be making their own meals while on vacation, including a great blender. :). The wonderful laundry room allowed us to use our own detergent-for-the-ludicrously-delicate. The immaculate home was remarkably free of dust or other environmental allergens. We had been wheezing from wildfire smoke for a month and progressively recovered each day we spent here. The pristine air, gorgeous forests, and thriving sea stars were deeply moving. It was also logistically helpful to be so close to the friendly and supportive kayak rentals. In all, it felt like great care had been taken to make a perfect vacation easy and restorative for us.
