This beautiful home was just what my family needed for a magical week at the beach. This section of the island is only 3 houses wide so we pretty much had the beach to ourselves, though the young ones loved the pool! We look forward to vitagain next year!!

Property was clean, and efficient. Everything worked great - Pool was clean and perfect, elevator was a blessing and worked great. Location is perfect. Thank you my whole family enjoyed it and had a great time.

Overall we had an excellent vacation and a great time! This was our first time going to Emerald Isle and the area was so quiet and relaxing. The house had more than enough room for all 18 of us, and the bedrooms were very spacious with King beds! We only ate out twice, ordered pizza one night from Michelangelo’s-it was great, and cooked the other nights. The house had plenty of cookware and plenty of pantry space. We lived by the pool and the boys played cornhole. When we did go to the beach, the access was right down the road so easy to get to. The ice makers were broke but Joyce made sure we had plenty of bags of ice and when we needed more propane for the grill, it brought to us quickly. We did venture out to Beaufort, NC down the road which I highly recommend. It is the cutest little seaside town with amazing food! We also took a walking ghost tour which was fun! If you have a big family and need a big house, I highly recommend staying at The Refuge for Decay!

I stayed here with my now husband and our wedding party for the week leading up to our wedding. This house had everything we needed to have the best time celebrating!! I was amazed by all of bed rooms and gorgeous, eclectic living spaces. The bridesmaids and I got married in the pink living room on the 3rd floor while the groomsman and my husband got ready in the living room with the pool table. I will cherish the memories made in this house for the rest of my life. The host was very attentive and I truly can’t thank her enough for being such an important part of the best week of my entire life.

Great experience

Location was great - love that we could see both the ocean and the sound from the top floor. Plenty of room for everyone to hang out on different floors. Would be nice if there was a smart TV for watching Netflix as our kids really wanted a movie night.

This house was just what we needed! A weekend getaway made even sweeter with the views from the balconies and the spacious living rooms. The beach was just a short hop away and made for any easy trip back to the house. It was nice to come cool down by the pool after enjoying the salt and sun too. We really enjoyed every minute of our stay!

Big pluses: 3 large living/family rooms allowed age groups to all have a place to hang out. Elevator was a huge plus for those with limited mobility and taking groceries directly from garage to pantry. This house was perfect for what we needed and would definitely rent again. There were a few things that could make it even better. House could use a little love: ie many labels for light switches were unreadable and there’s a lot of switches. Finishes are all showing signs of wear.

Everything went very smoothly; from finding the right house for our family, enough rooms for everyone, the kitchen was well stocked, plenty of towels, and we could see the ocean and sound from the house AND we didn’t have to clean. Very relaxing.
