While we enjoyed our vacation in Emerald Isle unfortunately, we did not enjoy our stay at this house. The property manager was very kind and responsive & the location is great, but I have to be honest regarding our visit. The house has an extreme musty smell which is exemplified at night & early am, the scent was so strong that we had to wash everything when we got home (even clothes unworn). It also feels very damp inside no matter how cool it was in the house. It also doesn’t feel clean. (I think a deep clean is needed.) The jack & Jill toilet WAS NOT bolted down therefore, it shifted when sitting on it. The shower curtain rod in the same bathroom fell multiple times (once hitting a one year old child on the head while bathing) the curtain has mold on it as well. Something to note, the rooms are all on one level & the home is smaller than the pics make it appear… we probs would’ve booked a dif house had we realized this beforehand. Overall, we were really disappointed in our stay and shocked because all the previous reviews were great. Not sure what was up, but the week of our stay was not the most pleasant.

This cottage has easy beach access and the covered front deck got a lot of use. Enjoyed the beach, a visit to the aquarium, and Shepeds’s bbq!

Really enjoyed the porches and the beautiful views of the ocean and the sound. Even though it is not beachfront you can hear the sounds of the ocean. Loved that!

This is a nice little property, with a convenient floor plan of two bedrooms and one bath on each side of the kitchen & living room. We appreciated being able to bring our dogs. The refrigerator fan runs noisily for most of the time.

This is a great property that just needs a little love,toilet seat in guest bath was cracked,washing machine doesn’t drain,and there was so much chlorine in the hot tub it was unusable. In my opinion all these things are minor and overall we very much enjoyed the home and our time spent there and would stay there again. Adam and Dona were excellent hosts.

Renting this property and communication with the owner was very simple. Front and back decks offered great views. Hot tub was great for tired muscles and achey feet. Smart tv offered streaming choices but the internet was a bit slow for working...not that I'm complaining. Was a great getaway and we would rent again. Thanks so much!

Great location and property - enjoyed our stay!

We enjoyed our stay! The house is in a great location, steps from beach access with a good view from the balconies. An additional bonus was the outdoor bathroom. Dona was kind and readily responsive to our needs. The negative thing about this house is that the bathrooms and kitchen are outdated and the ceiling fans in the main living area aren't working. Also, the kitchen cabinets and pantry and outdoor bathroom were quite cluttered; the cabinets and pantry could use a good cleaning.

Our family had a fantastic time at this property. It was our first time visiting the area and the views from this property were amazing. Beach was not crowded at all because its primarily used by locals and those renting homes in the neighborhood. Short drive to stores/restaurants. Dona was extremely helpful and responsive in all of our communication. Description and pictures were spot-on. The downstairs/outdoor bathroom was very convenient when spending the day at the beach. Our family (10 adults) used the front porch continuously---great spot to enjoy the views and just spend quality family time. Kitchen was well stocked for all of your cooking/eating needs. Plenty of parking. Beach chairs available if you forgot yours. Charcoal and propane grills. Firepit for cooking up some s'mores. Only cons were squeaky beds, kitchen drawers felt like they could easily be pulled out. Bathrooms and bedrooms could use a little updating. If you're looking for a budget-friendly rental that has fantastic views and beach access then this is the place.
