Stayed here for a week in January 2020.
The property has 3 bedrooms, a twin and a double on the lower floor and another double on the main floor. 2 bathrooms, one on each floor. The kitchen, dining and lounge area are on the main floor. The only door is to the bathroom and the only glazed windows are at one end of the lounge. Otherwise everywhere is open to wind, rain and mosquitos.
The property faces north-east so gets the sun rise but is shaded the rest of the day. Excellent views down the east coast, over the Limings, Airport and fish factory. On the west side St Vincent is easily seen. Brilliant view of the full moon rising.
The wind / gale blew all week bringing frequent rain showers. Some nights the rain blew in on our bed and one morning two of the glazed windows blew out.
On our first night the wind blew open the flap in our mosquito net; either poorly designed or badly fitted, but we awoke with dozens of mosquitos feeding off any exposed flesh. We did not bring an insecticide spray neither was one supplied so we were forced to manually kill them leaving signs of their blood filled bodies over the sheet and net.
Following this experience we were extra careful in closing the net using a couple of hair grips.
However the mosquitos were for ever present everywhere. No amount of burning coils or sprays dissuaded them. And the advised insect repellent was never 100% effective in preventing new bites.
The two tablets of eco soap provided disappeared over night apparently due to rats.
Sitting outside was seldom easy because of the wind and frequent rain and there was no provision for lying down in the sun. Just about possible to put cushions on the hard rough concrete but the wind would blow them away if left unattended.
There were over 100 steps down to the office where Wifi and basic stores were available. Wini and her staff were all very helpful. Further steps down to the beach and entrance but the sea on either side was always too rough to swim.
We did walk down to the Limings resort which has a nice sheltered sandy beach.
The kitchen was well stocked with fresh and frozen food as well as alcohol. But everything seemed to run out before the end of our stay so that the last day we eat what was left, e.g.cheese on toast and last night's curry.
Pamela and Mandy cooked super food.
