This is by far one of my best weekend trips ever. The sea was smooth and sailing there was a sinch. The weekend was filled with hiking, beaching, snorkeling, and great food with friends. The accommodation at Sadewa is exceptional and provides for families or just a group of friends. Their staff are friendly and helpful, this makes your stay feel as if you have your personal concierge. The layout of the villa is very modern with all the necessary amenities to make one comfortable. I especially like the infinity pool which gives a great view of the other side of the valley and hilltop, not forgetting the sea. I definitely plan to return to Bequia and Sadewa Villa. Five stars from me :-).

The view from the villa is absolutely gorgeous. The Villa was just far enough a way to have quiet and privacy, yet very convenient to beaches, restaurants, bars and other activities. The property is very well maintained inside and out. We strongly recommend this accommodation! We look forward to many more visits.

While searching online for a villa suitable for 2 couples for a return trip to Bequia (for one of the couples) I had several requests: a pool, at least two full bathrooms, in Lower Bay and lots of space. Well, believe me when I say 3 out of for ain't bad, in fact, it is FANTASTIC! Upon finding Sadewa Villa we all thought it was amazing and almost unbelievable. So much so, that I contacted our taxi driver from the previous winter to see if he knew it. He didn't but graciously went and had a look. When he called back his first question was how MANY of us were coming! Then his comments were, " It is HUGE and MAGNIFICENT!!" So to Sadewa Villa... It is a stunning 2-wing villa (we took one wing, they took the other) with 2 bedrooms and bathrooms in each wing. There are two more bedroom suites on the lower floor which are the largest but we didn't need them and they were further from the living areas. A fully equipped kitchen and I love to cook, and it was loaded! Huge fridge, gas/propane stove, coffee maker (a must!), blender (also a must), etc., etc. The owners VERY graciously offered to fill a grocery list for us. There are more items available on Saint Vincent but you do NOT want to make a trip over and lose a day on Bequia! Food, in general, is expensive on the island whether you buy it or eat out, so realize how lucky you are to be there enjoying all the other glories but will (eventually!) go home to where food is less expensive, while the locals will continue to pay the price. The living room is equipped with a large projection screen and a great sound system. The REAL beauty of it is I was able to use Chromecast to beam Netflix and movies to it at night, but also stream music all day long while we sat by the pool. We sat outside ALL the time and there are at least three great areas to do so, by the pool (sunny), just above it (shady) and between the kitchen & living room where there was a wonderful breeze at dinnertime. The villa is in Spring which is a good distance from the main town, stores restaurants, etc. and on a mountain! I know, you may think how far can it be, the whole island is only 7 square miles?! Yes, but almost NONE of those miles is FLAT! Last year my son (24) walked back & forth to a different 'hilly house', but he said it was a workout and always fell into the pool when he got back. I, would not do it! From Sadewa Villa our two ladies would walk DOWN to go to the beach at Sugar Reef almost daily (they say it was the beach, but the guys suspect it might have been the rum punches!) and it was about a 20-minute walk for them, but they always came back by taxi. So, your options are to call a taxi or check with the owners who will rent you an SUV! The daily price for the cars was very reasonable and the cars were some of the newest on the island. We chose to use a taxi due to the right-hand drive (yes, Bequia drives like England!), narrow & winding roads. If you don't know Bequia (pronounced Beck-Way), you are missing THE diamond in the rough of the Caribbean, it is changing though as more find it, don't wait too long to discover it's unique beauty! Back to the villa... This place is perfection, but also in the tropics. You see it in places in the weathering of the woodwork etc. but unless you are some sort of prig, it is completely inconsequential! The housekeeper Pam was wonderful and visited twice during the week as well as being there for arrival and departure and the pool was kept very clean. The views, the breeze, the sunrises, the night skies, the feel, you won't want to leave, or you'll want to come back... We are, we've already booked it for next January!

Sadewa Villa is a stunning place to stay, on a truly beautiful island. The villa is well designed with two wings, around a swimming pool. All the rooms are very nicely decorated and well maintained. The views from all bedrooms are absolutely stunning, and as good as anywhere I've stayed, this does give it quite a luxury feel. The amenities at the villa are great: a big, easy to use washing machine, dish washer in the kitchen, all the kitchen utensils you could wish for (a couple of the cabinet doors could use a touch of maintenance but this is a minor point). There's a big projector for watching films, we didn't use it so can't comment, except that it uses an HDMI cable, so bring that with you. To our surprise there were both UK and US/Caribbean power sockets in most of the rooms. The barbecue outside was again easy to use and added a lot of fun to our catering. Wi-Fi was pretty good throughout the property, certainly good enough for casual use. One small issue is that there is no A/C in the kitchen which can get very hot - but there are plenty of windows. In addition the A/C broke in one bedroom but we contacted both the local housekeeper and the hosts and an engineer arrived early the following day. The housekeeper came three times across a 14 days stay which was about right, and a groundskeeper came twice (iI think) and cleaned the pool. This was very well judged as it was infrequent enough to be unobtrusive, but often enough that everything was kept clean and well maintained. The hosts had very good communication, and promptly answered all messages. They gave us a competitive rate when renting the two cars which the villa has. They also helped organise a chef to cook for us on a few occasions, and sorted out an initial supermarket shop to be there for us on arrival. I highly recommend them they were professional and courteous throughout. The cars we rented with the villa were great; a car is more or less essential if you're staying there. The villa is high up in the hills, and while you could walk to a beach in about 20 minutes you probably wouldn't want to walk back and taxis get expensive on the island. The cars themselves were both automatics with some 4WD ability which meant driving them was easy, with a little common sense and caution. All in all it was a high quality villa with a very easy and relaxed environment. We'd certainly recommend staying there and hope to do so again one day!

We loved the island and the house was good with a nice view. We rented through AirBnb. During the day we had some friends over, we did a nice bbq and enjoyed the pool. The next day we left, left the house pretty clean and thought that everything was good. The day after we got a message from the landlord asking for 1700$ as compensation when we payed less that 500 for the stay. He saw on his camera that we had people over and he stated that they stayed over, when it wasn't the case. He started harassing us, saying that he had lawyers and that they would sue us if we didn't pay. He insulted us and bullied us in. He lied in our review saying that we left trash, used all the bedrooms and bathrooms and that everything was dirty when we actually cleaned the whole place. Airbnb acted very professionally and saw that he was being ridiculous. This was the worst experience ever!

Tolle Unterkunft in sehr ruhiger Lage. Sehr großzügig geschnittene Villa mit schönem Pool (etwas mehr Wasser im Pool wäre perfekt gewesen). Top Ausstattung (u.a. große Küche, Sound-Anlage, Home-Cinema). Organisation verlief unproblematisch (Abholung / Mietwagen usw.). Preis-Leistung ist super. Man benötigt auf jeden Fall einen Mietwagen oder Taxiservice (es stehen am Haus 2 Wagen zur Verfügung), da etwas abgelegen. Es gibt leider viele Moskitos, da die Villa mitten in der Natur liegt. Leider ist auch Bequia von der karibischen Algenplage betroffen (inkl. Geruchsbelästigung). Die kompletten Strände der Ostküste sind nicht nutzbar. Vorsicht bei Hotelwahl.

I have reviewed Sadewa before and I believe my biggest testament is that I returned. Bequia in my eyes is the crown of the Caribbean and Sadewa the Jewel.. If I were being paid to do a “ringer” review it wouldn’t be this effusive. I just don’t want too many people finding out about Bequia or Sadewa. Nitty gritty, the place is wonderfully appointed. Take a device that can “cast” thru blue tooth. You will always need a car. With that, pick folks up. You can give them 45 mins out of their day back. I had an arrangement with Pam, who took care of the house to call me, so I could pick her up. Kwesi and his team always strive to make your stay the best it can be. Trying to work on dates for next year.

The photos are right on target. The place is very large and well furnished. Hilltop location with views of the water. You will need a car (drive on the left). They will arrange for the car at a good price if you want. Everything on the island is a short drive away. Notice I said short, not easy. Drive slowly and you'll have no problems. Beep at blind turns. The villa did not disappoint. A hideaway screen projection TV (6x8 or so) which links to your laptop is nice. Bedrooms and living room have individual A/C. Baths are better than most villas offer (all tile, high end fixtures, and in one case coral scrap and stone floor). Patio areas are spacious. Gas grill (we used it, same as home). We've been to Bequia a number of times. Now that it's been written up in Conde Nast it could become crowded. Go while it is still quaint and laid back. The beaches are very nice. Be sure to eat at Mac's Pizza, and Sugar Reef restaurant (you could throw pebbles into the water from your table at Sugar Reef, candlelight dinner on Saturday night. Would stay there again. PS re mosquitoes, there are some depending on the weather, but bug spray and A/C kept them at bay just fine. Pool is about 4.5-5' throughout, keep an eye on little kids.

Oh how I wish I was back at Sadewa in Bequia instead of freezing in the cold. We had a fabulous time. Bequia was the perfect destination for us. Slow with a vibrant nightlife and lots of great places to eat. The beaches are excellent, be sure to visit Princess Margaret beach. Sadewa was the perfect location for us on Bequia. While only 5-10 minutes driving from everything we wanted to access, it was in a very quiet residential area where I couldn't see or hear our closest neighbor. It's definitely finished and cared for like a private, up-scale home. From the very first day it felt like we could stay there forever. We hope to go back tomorrow, if not then sometime soon. :-)

We were a little hesitant to stay at Sadewa considering the reviews of bugs and aging decor, however I'm so glad that we did. The property was recently renovated and everything was absolutely immaculate. The host was pleasant and the very responsive to all our requests. We love the completeness of the house. It doesn't feel like a rental property at all and feels more like a very comfortable, well-appointed home. The pictures doesn't do it justice because there have been a number of upgrades since they were taken. For example, we loved using the home theatre with the projector screen and invisible in-wall speaker system. We also loved the convenience of having an SUV at our disposal for the entire trip as taxi fees to add up. If you plan to rent Sadewa definitely order ahead for some groceries so you don't feel rushed to go shopping when you arrive. Also get the SUV, it's worth it. The beaches are about 5-10 minutes away and the town is 5 minutes away.
