Our period farmhouse, a listed building dating from 1643, is situated in a unique riverside location in the heart of the Lopikerwaard, just outside the village of Polsbroek. In these surroundings, you will be warmly welcomed by the Bogaard family: Pieter, Saskia and their children, Esmee and Mike.
The farm is in operation as a dairy farm and the 80 cows are milked with a robot. Naturally you will be able to watch the milking process, Among our permanent guests in the spring, we have a variety of meadow birds including the black-tailed godwit, lapwing and the redshank, because obviously we participate in the project: Protection of meadow birds.

Appartement au 1er étage d une ferme typique hollandaise bien située géographiquement pour les visites. Prestation correcte. Bon accueil. Attention aux moustiques. Appartement globalement bien équipé même s il manque qq affaires. Bon séjour. Bonne prestation globale. Attention lave linge et sèche linge en commun avec les autres locataires : 3 appartements et 2-3 chambres d hôtes. A recommander globalement.

Wir haben uns auf Anhieb auf dem Anwesen wohl gefühlt. Es liegt wunderschön, ist sehr gepflegt und bietet für Unternehmungen aller Art alle Möglichkeiten, die man sich wünschen kann.

Guter Startort für Unternehmungen in den Niederlanden
Gute Unterkunft zum Übernachten, wenn man viele Unternehmungen in der weiteren Umgebung plant. Das Zimmer war nicht sehr luxuriös, aber alles Nötige vorhanden. Das Frühstück (10€ pro Person) war prima und wurde auf Wunschzeit hergerichtet. 250€ incl. Endreiningung und Frühstück für 2 Nächte für 4 Personen (2 Erw. und Kinder 2 und 13 Jahre) ist angemessen. Überragend die Freundlichkeit der Vermieterfamilie, die uns auch einige Tipps gaben für unsere Ausflüge (nach Amsterdam, Schoonhoven, Restaurants und in eine Käsefabrik - letzteres ist unbedingt zu empfehlen und gleich nebenan). Hier kann man ganz gut Urlaub machen, wenn man mobil ist...

Nice comfortable place to stay.
We stayed here with our son, daughter-in-law, and granddaughter. We had a room with a nice remodeled bathroom. Our son had a small apartment with a kitchen and nice room for all of us to relax. There was no breakfast. The trampoline and play area was very nice for our grand daughter. There were a few restaurants down the road, too.
It was a nice, reasonable prices place to stay for 8 nights.

Relaxing and beautiful
After booking cheap flights to Amsterdam on a whim, we searched for a long time to find the right accommodation for our family. We looked at hotels in Amsterdam, houses to rent in Utrecht and then I came across Apud nos Domi and just knew it was the right place for us.
The property is exactly as pictured, situated alongside a long canal. The area is so quiet and peaceful, a perfect get away from our busy lives in the city. Located close to the picturesque town of Oudewater, the accommodation is ideally placed for a quiet break, but you have everything you need within a short drive. There is a well-stocked and friendly supermarket, called Jumbo, where you will find everything you need for cooking dinner in the apartment at Apud nos Domi.
We were welcomed by Saskia and shown around their Dairy farm. We were told all about the milking process and were introduced to the new lambs which were only a few hours old - the kids loved this and Saskia was happy to answer any questions.
We were then taken to our apartment and after explaining to us how a few things worked, we were left in peace but told if we needed anything not to hesitate to ask.
Later, Pieter came to introduce himself and again made us feel very welcomed and at home. Nothing was too much for them.
During our one week stay we visited the windmills at Kinderdijk, spent an afternoon in Rotterdam at the market hall, harbour and cube houses. We took a day trip to Amsterdam and walked miles to see the canals and Vondelpark!
The nicest thing we did was spend a day going to Oudewater, Montfoort and Gouda. These smaller towns are just beautiful with their canals and traditional buildings. The locals are so warm and friendly and not once was anyone rude to us during our entire trip.
We also surprised the kids with a trip to the theme park Efteling. We visited Disney last year and to be honest this place is every bit as good. We went in march so the queues weren't too long and the rides were excellent. It was a great day out.
On our final day we had a lazy morning so the kids could enjoy the trampoline and go-karts at the accommodation. They were free to run around while we had a coffee on the terrace. We then headed for Utrecht and used the Park and Ride Westraven which is incredible value for money, 5 euros covered our parking for the day plus our public transport. We used the P+R at Ajax stadium when we went to Amsterdam and can't recommend it enough-8 Euros for the whole day parking and transfers!
Overall, we had a great trip. The weather, while cold, was dry which meant we could get out and about every day. The Netherlands is perhaps the cleanest, most efficient place I have ever been to. It is light years ahead of the UK in terms of promoting sustainable living - there are bikes and cycle paths everywhere! The air is clean, the land is green and unspoilt. Even in the bigger cities the buildings aren't massive. There is a real sense of a quality of living here that is of a high standard.
Staying outside of Amsterdam I believe we got a taste of the 'real Holland'. We got to see the countryside and the beautiful thatched roof houses, the canals with the many swans, the windmills and the luscious green land.
As a family we had a wonderful time and cannot recommend Apud nos Domi enough, it is a perfect base to visit the Green Heart of the Netherlands and the hosts are so welcoming.

Perfect for our large family.
We stayed there as an extended family. The various rooms were great. Having kitchens gave us to flexibility to eat breakfast or dinner in instead of going out. The rooms, especially the kitchens and bathrooms are clean and modern. The kids loved the trampoline and play area. Nearby towns like Montfoort and Oudewater were charming and Utrecht was a short drive. Pieter and Saskia were accommodating and wonderful. A great stay.

We felt at home and welcomed.
Loved it! Pieter and Saskia were very friendly and welcomed us into this home. We were able to participate in Farm life and they were very helpful With answering questions and aiding us in navigating the area.

Muy recomendable
Nuestra estancia en Apud nos Domi fue estupenda. Peter y Saskia son muy amables y acogedores. Es un lugar perfecto para ir con niños. Tienen una granja al lado con más de 50 vacas, también tienen ovejas y un par de gatos correteando. Sobre las 7.30 de la mañana y las 6:30 de la tarde ordeñan las vacas y permiten que los huéspedes vean el proceso. Tienen un saltador que a nuestras hijas les encantó. El pueblo donde está ubicado, Polsbroek, es un sitio tranquilo, verde, y precioso.
Desde aquí se pueden visitar diferentes lugares de interés sin necesidad de conducir demasiados kilómetros.
Nuestra habitación tenía acceso a una cocina compartida. Nos ahorramos dinero con el desayuno y las cenas. Íbamos al supermercado en Oudewater.
La casa es muy tranquila, y las habitaciones muy correctas.
Os lo recomendamos.

Verrukkelijk verblijf
Een heerlijke week doorgebracht. Met onze neus in de boter midden in een feestweek van het dorp, met elke dag wat te doen voor de kinderen. Een mooie omgeving met fantastische stillevens, we hebben heerlijk gefietst en gevaren met de kano (aanwezig op de boerderij), of gewoon lekker genikst op de boerderij, waar voor de kinderen altijd genoeg te ontdekken valt. Koeien melken, slootje springen (of erin zwemmen), hutten bouwen...
Een vakantie op heel snel nog eens over te doen, een dikke aanrader!
