Really enjoyed staying here, close to the town and pretty location. House is spacious, surprisingly big and two bathrooms a big bonus. There’s loads to do in the neighbourhood, many things a small drive away. Handy location for visiting Puy Du Fou, about 40 minutes away. Slight downside, rear of the property becomes very warm when hot in August, fans would have been a bonus. Great communication and an easy trouble free holiday to book with Jacki. Highly recommended.

Cette maison un peu a l’écart du centre du bourg médiéval et idéalement située. Rien ne manque, tout y est pour se sentir comme chez soi. Les chambres sont spacieuses tout comme les pièces de vie. Idéale pour une grande famille qui recherche le calme. Les propriétaires sont très a l’écoute et répondent rapidement a toutes les questions (anglophones, donc maitrise de l’anglais recommandé). Bref, un séjour reposant dans une maison charmante, qui respire l’esprit de famille.

This is a lovely gite only a few minutes walk from the centre of Vouvant. The property is full of character and very well equipped. The long garden is south facing so gets the sun for most of the day and has a great barbecue. Can definitely recommend.

My husband and I have just spent a wonderful week at LeVivier. It was well equipped, cosy, comfortable and clean with a traditional French feel, including wood burner, beams, wooden floors and Freesat TV. We particularly liked the large well-equipped kitchen/diner with picture windows opening to the south facing partically decked garden. It is less than a ten minute walk into the village for fresh bread and the local restaurant. We found lots to do in the surrounding countryside. Vouvant is a pretty village with a few shops, art gallaries, coffee shops plus Patrick's for a glass of wine or two. We felt we got value for money with this property and would highly recommend and will definitely come back.

This was a good holiday rental. The house is in a good location on the outskirts of Vouvant with only a 10 to 12 minute walk to the center of the village. The village has great restaurants and a variety of shops and art galleries. The house was clean on our arrival but a little tired looking in places. The kitchen floor and wooden work surfaces in the kitchen could do with a sanding down and revarnished or polished. Lovely long garden but the decking needs some attention. Plenty of crockery and cooking utensils and very thoughtful of the owner to provide beach umbrella and cool boxes. If visiting the area again I would not hesitate to book this property again

We enjoyed very much this comfortable French house in a lovely old village. The house has all amenities and is very spacious and attractive. Nice long garden with BBQ , loungers , table and chairs. Large bright kitchen and cool lounge . Very comfortable beds in large bedrooms . Books, TV with English satellite channels, DVDs , Videos and games available. Nice quiet situation but only 8-10 minutes walk to Vouvant with cafes , shops , art galleries , river walks , and historic ruins. Parking outside of house or in quiet car park 20 meters across minor road .Near to a large forest with waymarked walks and drives .

If you find yourself lucky enough to be planning a break in Vouvant, then you will not find a nicer retreat than at Le Vivier. We arrived on a warm day to a warm reception and a wonderfully cool interior. This is not a modern, characterless, build-to-let property, but a lived-in and loved home. Everything you need is to hand, from the freezer to the garlic crusher. The beds were very comfortable and the showers had a constant supply of hot water. The house has a wonderful lounge, which, with the shutters closed at peak hot times of the day, provided us with a welcome cool retreat. The enclosed garden has shade in the mornings and evenings, making it perfect for breakfast and dinner outside, and is a real suntrap during the day. The charcoal bbq was great for outdoor cooking. While we were there at the height of the good weather, we feel that this would also be a really comfortable and cosy in colder weather, having a large wood-burning stove in the lounge. It’s a mere 7 to 10 minute walk to the boulangerie in the extremely pretty town of Vouvant, which is well served with restaurants and well stocked shop. From our first email, we found the owner to be extremely helpful and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this lovely property.

My wife and I stayed in le vivier on the outskirts of the beautiful village of vouvant.We could walk easily to the heart of the village which offered all the amenities necessary for a relaxing holiday in an authentic rural french community.The locals were most accommodating and if British company is required the village has a cafe run by an English x-pat.We often enjoyed walks which were scenic ,with some of the views breathtaking ,frequently ending up in the other cafe classically French. The house was a joy to use as a base.Everything we required was available and with 3 bedrooms ,very spacious.I cannot praise it enough.

Myself, my partner and her two teenage kids holidayed here in July / August 2012. The house is fabulous - very spacious with a lovely cool lounge, TV, DVD, Music system, indoor and outdoor games for the kids and a well stocked bookcase. Kitchen / dining area was well equipped with access to a decked and lawned garden complete with BBQ facilities. Garden gets the sun throughout the day and is ideal for sunbathing on the loungers provided. Bedrooms and bathrooms were well equipped and master bedroom was charmingly decorated and spacious with a comfy bed. Location is ideal with the beautiful village of Vouvant only 5 minutes walk away, and many lovely coastal resorts about an hour's drive away. Plenty of car parking space adjacent to the house. I would highly recommend this holiday home to anyone wanting a nice relaxing holiday away from all the hustle and bustle.

We really enjoyed our holiday at Le Vivier. The house was wonderful, really clean, spacious and it had a lovely garden with barbeque. It is also a lovely quiet area so you can really relax and get away from it all. It was very useful having two bathrooms so the children had there own bathroom upstairs and we had ours downstairs. The house is on three levels so it is not suitable for very young children. The reason I have given the rating as very good and not excellent is because there was no television service, just a screen and a DVD player which did not bother us too much because most of it would have been in French anyway.
