Casa Del Sol is a great place to stay. Perfectly maintained grounds, great staff at the complex including the guard, the on-site manager and the other staff, super well-kept condo complex that is all of a five-minute walk from a beautiful beach and a ten-minute walk from another beach on which you can walk or run miles. Honestly, I almost hate to give a tripadvisor rating here because I'd like to keep it to myself. The unit was very clean, well-kept, well-decorated and was nicer than most of the other units we saw. The only drawback I can think of was a local rooster that was overly enthusiastic sometimes, but other than that I have no complaints.

I recommend this place, it is a very nice, quiet place, with wishes come back soon! Exact place to spend with the family.

We had a wonderful vacation with the family in Potrero. Casa del Sol is conventiently located in the Potrero village. we walked around the village and walked to the playa penca beach. We never felt out of place or insecure. Condo was clean and well furnished. The condo and pool were wonderful. Grandkids had a great time swimming in the pool and listening to the howler monkeys in the trees. Several very good restraunts and a local farmers market in the area made this a very good location. We visited most of the beaches from Tamarindo to Hermosa on our trip. Playa Penca (walking distance from Casa del Sol) was one of the best. Good for snorkeling and calm enough for the grand kids to swim. We had a few problems getting settled in but Daphne handled them for us and all had a great time.

My Wife and I totally enjoyed the 2 weeks we spent Casa del Sol, Condo #17, November 1 - 15, 2014, the owner Daphne was so helpful, providing us we advise on restaurants, tours, groceries stores and different beaches in the area to visit. The pictures provided on the web site do not do justice to this beautiful unit; the condo is fantastic, tastefully decorated with a clean modern look. It has all the conveniences of home, full size stainless appliances, including stove, fridge, microwave, dishwasher and washer and dryer, everything worked perfectly. Beds were very comfortable with fresh crisp clean sheets, plenty of towels including beach towels. We did a lot of our meals in the condo and enjoyed those meals while sitting on the covered outside patio, listening to howler monkeys at times when they paid us a visit. Upon arrival we were assisted by security, providing us with the key and then taking us to the unit. The pool and grounds are very clean and well maintained, the pool is steps from the condo and we spent many hours enjoying it. The condo complex has 24 hour security with a gated entry, providing peace of mind, although we never felt unsafe in the area, in fact we found ourselves spending much of our time wondering the beaches in the area enjoying long walks, or just strolling around the streets. There are many great dining options in the area, some are walkable from the condo others not so much, we did have a rental car for the 2 weeks we were there and we enjoyed the option of driving to nearby beaches and restaurants. Playa Penca beach is a short walk from the condo it is very clean with not many people on it, some days we were the only ones on the beach, this may have been due to the low season. The condo exceeded our expectation in every way, and we would highly recommend it to anyone considering a vacation in that area, the owner Daphne was a great help to us, and even called us on the condo phone to ensure all was good!!! My husband, my two daughters of 6 and 3 years of age and I, stayed in this apartment and it was wonderful. Already from the entrance and the kind help that you receive with your luggage, then it starts the experience in this warm cozy place, where Daphne, the owner, took care of everything in such a way you feel you are invited to her home, not just renting a house. The cleaness was perfect. As an example, my kids were running around without shoes and when I saw them, their foot where realy clean.... Very amazing.... Beds, kitchen, everything, as confortable as you can imagine. The apartment is steps from the pool but not so close to be bother for any sound. The pool is perfectly clean too and the location is unbelievable cause you have a really nice beach just steps from from you, and also you are close to all the main beaches of that area. We had perfect moments in Daphnes apartment and can't wait to go back.

We had a wonderful time at your condo. From the moment we opened the front door, we were in awe. The place smelled so good and it was spotless. The color scheme was beautiful, as well as all the decorations throughout the place. It was very cozy and it felt a lot like home. The beds were so comfortable (even the sofabed) -the most comfortable beds we had during our stay in Costa Rica ;-D. The kitchen had everything we could possibly need. The swimming pool was a very popular place with our kids, and the jacuzzi in the pool was amazing. The location within walking distance of La Penca and local supermarkets and restaurants was so convenient. We felt safe at all times and enjoyed having the condo -and the beach!- pretty much to ourselves. We are already set on going back next summer. You'll be hearing from us next year! We stayed here for 8 nights to attend a friend's wedding at the nearby Westin resort. We are so glad we chose this route instead of staying in one of the bigger hotels. It was peaceful, accommodating, clean and gave us a real taste of Costa Rica. The locals were wonderful and the nearby beach and few restaurants in the area, is all you need to enjoy your own piece of paradise.

Two couples made our first visit to Costa Rica and to Casa del Sol and, after two weeks, we left agreeing that the entire experience was outstanding. The accommodation is tucked away in a corner of the complex with lovely shade for the patio and much needed fans and air conditioning for the brief time spent indoors. The condo was so pleasantly decorated and entirely comfortable for the four of us. Everything we needed was available including staff who were so friendly and accommodating. We rented a car but also took the bus and realized it too was a pretty good way to move around. An aspect to highlight is how the condo complex is set in the midst of a village so we not only had excellent and secure accommodation but also had the experience of village life. There are a number of restaurants in the area but none better than the one across the street which became our favorite place to dine. There is a short walk to Playa Penca, a spectacular beach, where every morning and evening we enjoyed wonderful swims and incredible sunsets. Come prepared for hot afternoons but with the great pool and shade, come prepared to have a truly fine Costan Rican holiday such as four of us had at Casa del Sol.

We loved staying at Casa del Sol with our 2 young grandsons and their parents. The master bedroom was actually big enough for the four of them; we slept in the second bedroom. We could happily cook our own meals, or eat out: the best restaurant in that region, Sol y Mar, is just outside the gates. As is a grocery store with helpful staff. It's in a village; most days, our kids had a little soccer in the late afternoon with dad, grandad, and a couple of local kids. The swimming pool is meant for having a dip at all times of the day, and just a few steps from the patio. Penca beach is just a pleasant 3-minute walk away, and great for swimming, cavorting in the waves, discovering beach wildlife and birds, playing in the sand. Best of all, kind of a family beach, never crowded. The management/security staff are pleasant and helpful, yet never interfering. Yes, there's air conditioning; parking inside the gates; a washer, dryer, TV, VCR, reading lights; linens; and everything is clean and bright and feels safe. Yet you are in a different land: easy access to tropical beaches; to flora and fauna right next to you; and to more dramatic wildlife within 2 or 3 hours' drive. The only thing we disliked was the noise everybody's air conditioning made outside; a small price to pay for comfort! A word about suitability for disabled: great for seniors in general; probably great for those with mobility issues: all one level, just one step up from ground level, showers with a 5" rim, and spacious. But probably not suitable for wheelchair-bound folks. And very kid-friendly!

I loved the place, pretty close to La Penca Beach (one of my favorites in Costa Rica).
