This typical Madeira Cottage, Cyane & Vigo’s Cottage, was built in 1952 and renovated in 2007. It was established in 2008, and is managed by the owner. Here, you will find peace and tranquillity on this beautiful Atlantic coastline on the slopes of a rural village called Arco da Calheta, which catches the first and the last of the day’s sunshine. The guest house is close to all amenities, yet quiet and peaceful, where you will be able to enjoy superb views. It is set in tranquil surroundings and a beautiful tropical garden. There is a hammock in the shade or on the sun terrace where you can relax- read a book, sitting on a stony bench in the garden, while enjoying the superb view over the Atlantic Ocean and the valley of this beautiful village. The house is ca. 300 m above sea level. The village is very pleasant and tranquil where you can go for walkings or discover the sorroundings, peacefully. You can enjoy paragliding or if you are a nature lover there are some "levadas" (water channels made by men's hand in the early 16th century, hard work really.) nearby. Interactie met gasten: I'm a very friendly person always willing to help! Seeing that I live in a studio attached to the house, but with a separate entrance, when I'm not working I'm always available for any questions, and if asked any suggestions or indications, I will do that with pleasure! Professionally, I am a High School teacher. I'm very discreet and don't interfere in anything, hosts are free to do like if they were in their own houses! What I appreciate in people is honesty and respect above all! I'm sure any person will enjoy this little corner of Madeira Island!

C'est une maison pleine de charme avec un jardin très fleuri entretenu avec beaucoup de soin. Les chambres sont agréables, la maison est très propre. La propriétaire vit sur place, dans une petite dépendance mais elle est très discrète et arrangeante. Nous sommes restés en famille 5 jours dans cette maison qui n'est pas très loin d'un petit bourg où l'on peut trouver toutes les commodités. Par contre, je ne recommande pas cette maison si vous n'aimez pas les manœuvres un peu techniques pour vous garer car l'arrivée et le départ de la maison se font dans une pente assez spectaculaire / ou si vous avez des problèmes de mobilité car l'escalier intérieur est vraiment très étroit.

The house has flexible accommodation and is well equipped but has a steep staircase so is not suitable for the elderly. The apartment is built on top of the house with a separate outside entrance, which was useful for us as we had two children with different sleep patterns. Even in February we spent most of the time in the covered patio and the garden which are lovely and overlook the ocean far below. Parking in the driveway is difficult, so we usually parked at the top of the road by the shops and walked down.

I appreciate the comment and thank the guest for giving his opinion. The house was built in 1952, therefore it probably has something that it will not suit everyone, but I am satisfied with the overall reviews. Any stairs will be difficult for eldery people. The parking is spacious, it is enough for 2 cars, but of course here in Madeira the old roads are a bit narrow and some people will have difficulty in driving through it, but very few guests leave their cars in the main road, which is 5 minutes walk from the house. Of course,It all depends in the driver.

La maison est très agréable et possède un jardin tout juste exceptionnel, très apprécié des enfants. La terrasse possède une très belle vue sur la côte. La propriétaire nous a très bien accueilli. Nous conseillons vivement cette adresse !

Je viens de passer une petite semaine au Cyane & Vigo's Cottage. Tout était parfait : super accueil d'Adriana, la propriétaire, appartement propre, coquet, bien équipé. Une vue magnifique de la terrasse et du jardin tropical attenant à la maison. Un petit restaurant italien à proximité qui propose de délicieuses pizzas et pâtes pour ceux qui ne souhaitent pas cuisiner, quelques cafés de campagne simples (essayez le recanto bar en descendant vers Arco, très sympa), deux mini markets pour dépanner. Et de superbes balades à deux pas, soit vers l'océan, soit vers les collines et la levada (ça monte mais ça vaut bien un petit effort...). Il y en a pour tous les goûts. Je reviendrai, c'est certain :)

Fabulous welcome from Adriana, made to feel so welcome, with tea coffee milk butter cheese all fresh in the fridge on arrival. Clean and tidy accommodation with everything you need for a great holiday. Shower with great pressure and as hot as you need after a long day walking. Good supermarket and plenty of places within walking distance to eat and drink locally if you don't want to drive at the end of a long day. Great views from the terrace and would recommend to anyone looking for a traditional Madeira cottage. Thank you for a great stay

Wir waren bei unserem Aufenthalt mit 5 Personen und haben daher das gesamte Haus genutzt. Die Wohnungen sind schön, zweckmäßig und mit viel Liebe zum Detail eingerichtet. Die obere Wohnung ist über einen eigenen Eingang zu erreichen, daher können dort gut zwei Familien Urlaub machen. Nach einer Woche gab es eine Zwischenreinigung mit Wechsel der Handtücher und der Bettwäsche. Einen kleinen Negativpunkt haben wir noch. Das Haus ist sehr hellhörig. So haben wir den Hahn vom Nachbarn ab 2.00 Uhr nachts häufig gehört, aber Natur gehört ja zum Urlaub dazu. Das Preis-Leistungsverhältnis war absolut in Ordnung.

Nous avons séjourné dans cette maison avec nos 2 enfants (2 et 5 ans) pendant une semaine. La maison est bien équipée, très bien entretenue et située dans un quartier calme. Le jardin est sublime avec vue sur l'océan et le village. Adriana a répondu à toutes nos demandes avant notre séjour et nous avons été bien accueillis. L'accès à la maison se fait par un chemin en bon état mais très pentu. Ca peut surprendre la première fois (surtout pour monter), mais après un ou deux jours d'entrainement, on s'en sort très bien !

Nous étions une famille avec 2 enfants 9 et 6 ans. Nous avons logé dans la maison qui est traditionnelle , très agréable et calme. Terrasse très bien abritée qui permet d'y manger même en cas de pluie. Jardin verdoyant avec une belle vue sur la mer et sur le village de Arco de Calheta. Propriétaire sympathique et disponible . Voiture nécessaire.

Nous avons séjourné dans le petit appartement situé au dessus de la maison,c'était très propre, décoré avec goût et très agréable. De la terrasse la vue est superbe. L'hôtesse est très accueillante , sympathique et toujours prête à rendre service.Nous avons passé un merveilleux moment dans cet endroit charmant. A recommander.

Het is de juiste plek voor paragliding liefhebbers! U kunt de meest spannende avontuur! In de omgeving is er een goed restaurant waar u uw maaltijden kunt hebben. Als u een kunstliefhebber is er een Art Gallery genaamd "Casa das Mudas" in het volgende dorp, Calheta. Vanaf hier krijg je toegang tot de "levada's" - water kanalen waar u wandelingen kunt doen, die u kunt nemen door middel van het eiland en genieten van een prachtig uitzicht. Daarnaast hebben we neaby een mooie gele zand strand, naast het zijn er restaurants, cafés en een supermarkt. In andere woorden, krijg je alles wat je nodig hebt!
