Wir können das Stone House sehr empfehlen. Wir wurden vom Besitzer persönlich empfangen und verabschiedet, er ist sehr freundlich und hat sich immer um alles gekümmert. Man braucht seine Hilfe schon, um das Haus zu finden, weil es sich etwas versteckt unterhalb der Straße befindet. Von der Straße hört man nichts, die Lage ist sehr ruhig. Von der Küche hat man einen tollen Blick aufs Meer. Man kann an der Straße parken, einen Parkplatz direkt am Haus gibt es nicht..ist aber kein Problem. Das Haus ist schön eingerichtet, es ist alles da, was man so braucht. Wir hatten eine tolle Woche und würden gerne wiederkommen.

Falls ihr jemals nach Madeira fahrt. Fahrt zu Nelsons houses und ins Steinhaus. Es war traumhaft und João ist ein so herzlicher und interessierter Mensch. Er wird uns sicher wiedersehen. Morgens wandern, nachmittags baden, abends speisen. Herzlichen Dank für alles...

Schöne und gute Unterbringung mit allem , was man braucht , ruhig gelegen , Lage hoch am Hang, mit einem einmaligem Blick auf den Atlantik, den man sowohl aus dem Haus bzw. von der Terrasse aus geniessen kann . Den ganzen Tag über Sonne, sofern sie scheint , aber das tat sie häufig . Gemeinschaftspool mit 2 anderen Häusern , wir hatten ihn fast immer allein . Jao ist ein sehr netter und charmanter , immer gut aufgelegter und herzlicher Vermieter , der immer Hilfe anbietet und einem zu Allem Tipps geben kann . Wir haben unsere Woche auf Madeira im Stone house sehr genossen und würden jederzeit wiederkommen .

Stone House is in an amazing position looking out over the Atlantic Ocean, peaceful and relaxing break. Special thanks to João the owner who was really kind and helpful even when we turned up after a late flight in the middle of the night! The house has everything you need for a pleasant stay and a short drive to the beach, the fresh avocados, peppers, lettuce, guava, oregano and aubergines from the garden were also great. Thanks a lot!

A wonderfully spacious and well-appointed house - 2 bedrooms, 2 sitting rooms, a dining kitchen, and 2 terraces, all with great sea views, and brightly painted inside. Situation dramatic and very Madeiran, being on a steep hillside that calls for care, and for fitness. Similar small houses, very close, are being built or renovated, and could be a little disruptive at times. The proprietor is extremely generous and helpful - a lovely man.

Wir waren im Januar eine Woche bei Joao, so heißt der Besitzer des Stone House. Ein toller Gastgeber, der immer gute Laune hat. Das Haus ist super schön und geschmackvoll eingerichtet. Ein Willkommensgeschenk stand auch noch bereit. Im großen Garten durften wir uns nach belieben bedienen. Die Aussicht ist grandios. Wir hatten super schöne Tage. DAs Stone House und auch die anderen Wohnungen auf dem Grundstück von Joao ´kann man nur jedem empfehlen. Liebe Grüße an Joao - Joachim und Larissa

We stayed with our daughter of 1,5 years old for 2 weeks in the stone house. From the moment we arrived we felt really welcome! The owner Joao is very helpful and has great recommendations of the island. The house is clean and everything is well provided. Surrounding and view is amazing as well as the garden where you can take lovely peppers, herbs and all kind of fresh products to put on the BBQ :) Every day you will have a free work-out to walk from the house to the main road, so if you travel with kids I can recommend a carrier (also for the nice walks on the island of course). To my opinion a car is needed, for sightseeing on the island but it's also nice for short distances, since the island has a lot of mountains. I advise this place to everyone who doesn't want to join the mass tourism. Just relax, sit back, enjoy the island and watch the sunset!

We spent two weeks at the Stone House in Calheta, the pictures don't do the house justice it is absolutely stunning. The owner of the apartments João, was so helpful with all the tips and help he provided during our stay. The Stone House is on a secluded location with 4 other properties around, it overlooks the sea and has spectacular views of the coast and also looking down onto the port of Calheta. The use of the vegetables from the communal garden were a nice touch, and great fruit for breakfast. The island of Madeira has so much to see and do that a car is definitely recommended, it is also a big benefit for the location of the house being at the top of a cliff. We did walk into Calheta a few times, it is a nice walk going down, but a good climb getting back up. Within Calheta there are numerous water sports that you can enjoy, we swam with dolphins and went whale watching. There is also a very handy local supermarket which João gave us a discount card for, very handy to get bargains. The only negative point of the accommodation, is the path leading down to the house from the road, it is in need of attention and anyone unsteady on there feet might have difficulty with this. But, that aside I can not praise this accommodation or the owner enough. John & Pedro
