What a lovely villa. There were 9 of us. Very comfortable and beautiful views. Bedrooms have air con too. The coordinator was very helpful. A few little bar ‘down’ the road with a supermarket a little way further. But walkable. . A bigger supermarket in Calhetta itself. We walked down and had a cab back. A Very hilly area but we loved it.

We visited a couple of days ago and had the most amazing time, the host met us there and showed us round, the house is amazing, has everything you need, the pool is a great size and the view is amazing! My children, 5 & 10 loved it! There is a supermarket a walk away but if you want a bigger shop it’s half hour walk and a cab back as it’s all up hill (very steep) a couple of lovely restaurants at the marina and a couple of bars that serve for a walk away. We spend one day in Funchal and arranged a cab (which was about €70) We couldn’t have asked for a better week, will defo go back :-)

The property was perfect for our four couple group with a well equipped kitchen and a great outdoor eating area. The gym was a huge bonus and was certainly well used. There was a nice little bar at the bottom of the road. Just a short walk back to the villa!! The property was well situated as a base for our walking holiday.

Wir waren 1 Woche mit 6 Personen zu Gast in der Villa da Rosalina. Die Villa liegt sehr ruhig, ist sehr gut eingerichtet. Der Pool und die Außenanlagen sind wunderschön, man hat einen tollen Blick auf das Meer. In 5 Minuten Fahrzeit erreicht man den Sandstrand von Calheta an dem es richtig gute Restaurants gibt in denen man zu einem vernünftigen Preis essen kann. Der Kontakt zum Verwalter vor Ort war unkompliziert und äußerst freundlich. Sollten wir nochmals auf Madeira Urlaub machen, werden wir sicher wiederkommen.

Stayed with our sons 4 and 2 during the October half term just before the second UK national lockdown. Villa Rosalina is a large 4/5 bed Villa (they locked the 5th annexe bedroom when we stayed) located I’d say a 5-10 minute drive from the main resort area of Calheta. It’s marble type floors and luxuriously appointed high spec bathrooms and kitchen help make this accommodation a very comfortable experience for anyone who appreciates quality. We stayed in October when things were getting cooler but it was still nice to have air conditioning units in each bedroom. Our 2 year olds cot was all ready and made for him when we arrived late in the evening which was a relief with young children. Outside there’s a medium sized swimming pool, fine for smaller groups, which we paid an extra €200 to have heated to 26 degrees which for us was worth it. There’s a good outdoor bbq you can use too which we cooked some steak over one night. It’s quite handy having a decent well stocked small supermarket a 5 minute walk away. Our boys enjoyed playing with the toys in the separate games room and I enjoyed the pool table with a couple of glasses of wine! Everything very clean and COVID conscious throughout the Villa. It’s a gated Villa with room enough to comfortably park I’d say 4 vehicles and we had no issues with our hire car (use Williams car rental they were excellent) getting in. There’s a couple of cafes within walking distance but you would really need a car to get about and enjoy Calheta - especially if your not good with the steep hills which Madeira is famous for. My only real comment for improvement, as I mentioned to the host from ‘Our Madeira’ as we checked out, is the lack of any child safety gates or barriers. It’s a 3 storey house with hard flooring and steep steps leading to the car parking area. We kept an eye on the kids but it would have made the visit even more relaxing just to have a couple of child gates handy. Again not a criticism we still had a superb time. I wouldn’t have thought to visit Madeira before COVID and travel corridors but we had a fabulous time and would thoroughly recommend Casa da Rosalina.

Beautiful place, amazing gym with an inspiring sea view. Supermarket next to house. Nice private pool with heating. Cozy place for barbecue. Everything was excellent!

This house was great. Beautiful views, good outdoor dining and grilling setup, nice pool, well laid out for families, close to great hiking trails. The host was very helpful too.

This was our first time in Madeira, 7 of us went over and Casa da Rosalina looked like a perfect place to stay. Great location, local shop and cafes, owners even arranged car hire for us at a very good rate that made arrival at the airport even easier. Happy to say that the villa delivers on being the perfect place to stay. Built to very high standard throughout, a very large safe and secure plot of land so no concerns with our children (10,14,16), or my in-laws who also came with us :-) a very warm welcome when we arrived at the villa and it just got better. Amazing views to wake up to and watch the sun set, immaculately clean and tidy throughout, wonderful BBQ and outside dining area. Kids (all of us) loved the pool and the pool table. Highly recommend the steaks from the supermarket at the bottom of the hill too! We loved this place and will be back next year. Thank you for making it such a wonderful holiday.

This was our first trip to Madeira and we could not have been more happy with Casa da Rosalina as a choice - the location is great for exploring the island, located in a quiet little village 5 minutes drive above Calheta beach. It is a short walk to the local supermarket. The villa itself is stunning - brand new, beautifully designed and incredibly well equipped for a rental villa. The pool and outdoor area is beautiful, we ended up making BBQs here watching the Sunset almost every night. The view from the gym is unbeatable and the games room complete with pool table and playstation is a fantastic addition for older kids and adults alike in the evening or during the occasional rain shower. The history of the villa itself makes it all the more magical. Isobel was a wonderful host and could not have been more helpful during our stay. We would definitely recommend Casa da Rosalina to anyone and hope we will make it back very soon.
