We stayed at Casa del Pinaret for 7 nights, in the first week of April 2017.
All contact with the owner prior to travel was efficient and friendly, with very clear instructions on how to find the villa, and who to contact when we landed.
We were met at the villa by the property manager. He showed us round, and was very helpful and friendly. There was fresh fruit and milk/water/juice in the fridge for our arrival.
We also had a cleaner come halfway through our stay, on the Wednesday.
The villa is stunning. Inside, the house is very well equipped and very clean. We only used two of the bedrooms, being a family of four, but it would suit a party of 10 just as easily. Marble/tiled floors throughout. Blinds and curtains on the bedroom windows, which effectively block out sunlight for little early risers! I had taken a blackout blind which I didn't use.
There is a large lounge area, large dining area, kitchen with lots of appliances, including high-spec dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer.
Outdoor rack to hang washing too, which dries very quickly.
Lovely towels and bed linen, all tastefully monogrammed.
Outside, there is a large dining table beside the barbecue area, and a smaller bistro-style table nearer the pool.
The pool is fabulous. It is a chlorine pool, with steps leading into it. We asked for the pool fence to be up for the duration of our stay due to young children which was very effective. We also paid for pool heating, which I would recommend for April.
The manager came nightly and early morning to cover and uncover the pool for us. We would have been able to discuss any problems with him at these times, which was reassuring, although we didn't need to.
There are lots of loungers by the pool, and a table tennis table. There is also a jacuzzi which is covered when not in use, so it is all very safe for young children. Ours were aged six and four for this trip. There is a small swing-set, and a little wooden playhouse, which is filled with buckets, spades, balls, hula hoops and swim toys.
The main gate is electirc, with a video monitor within the house. Parking is within the grounds.
There is also a locking gate at the far end of the grounds which is handy for walking into town.
The grounds themselves are both extensive and beautiful and like the rest of the property, immaculately maintained.
Location-wise, the villa is perfect. The beach is a 5-minute walk, just at the end of the main street. It is also close to the main road network, although there is minimal traffic noise.
We felt very well cared for during our entire holiday.
As far as the resort of Port de Pollensa (Puerto Pollensa), it is really lovely. The beaches are well kept, with new play park areas for children. There are so many restaurants, you could eat somewhere new every night for months. Most serving traditional Mallorcan cuisine and tapas, alongside more standard dishes. (No sign of any tacky places.) Catering for vegetarian and gluten-free diets was standard.
We felt safe walking about with our children, and all the local people we met were very friendly, and engaging with them.
I downloaded an app called Spanish Dict which was very handy for translating words I couldn't remember, and all the local people are so kind to speak excellent English too.
We will definitely book to come here again, unless this review makes it impossible to get an available week!
