Afrirhythm Backpackers is close to Lake Nabugabo, center of outdoor activities in Masaka, in the place you can find a lot of information about activities the community eventually organized in the lake. The hosts are friendly; the place is clean and surrounded by vegetation in a town famously known for being the home of the Equator, which is a major tourist attraction in the area.
We arrived in Uganda without knowing what to expect, was our first time in an African country, Afrirhythm is an amazing place with great people and staff, lots of beautiful landscapes near, it is super safe and we loved the peace that you can feel there, simply amazing, just go, im pretty sure that u will love it
I stayed in this place for few days during my backpacking trip around Uganda. Actually, I found it totally by coincidence and I couldn't have chosen better. The place itself is already nice with huge garden in front (where you can relax in the shade of trees) but what makes it so much better are the owners. Margie & Hector who own the place are the sweetest, I felt like being at home when I was actually travelling. We even shared some meals together and had lots of funny talks. They'd advise me on where to go next and thanks to them, I found my way to Ssese islands:) Though have to say that if you are looking for peace and a place to be with yourself only- you don't have to go all the way to Ssese, you can as well stay here. I had a single room which was really nice and big enough for me. As a traveller (and when travelling around Africa, I was used to really bad conditions) this was like my own paradise where everything was clean and you could see that they tried to make you feel like at home. overall, I would most definitely recommend staying at this place. If I ever pass by Masaka again, this is on my list of places to stop:)…
I came here with my father while travelling East Africa, and we were made very welcome. Lovely family business, good food and facilities. It's also near the town, where the manager kindly took me to get a new car key cut- a very helpful friendly chappy. Would definitely recommend to travelers.
