We stayed in this wonderful place and were treated perfectly. We felt really at peace and rested; the views from the house down the grounds were astonishing. Our hosts Martin and Robin were really attentive and full of great recommendations to explore Wales. Our breakfast every morning was just perfect and in great proportion. Our room was spacious, cosy and clean; We will definitely come back and recommend this place all around us! Thank you for everything!
My friend and I were fortunate to come across this magical hotel as we did a search for a 2 night stay . As we have gluten free and vegetarians diets we rang and spoke to the delightful Martin who said it wasn’t a problem at all & was very much looking forward to us staying This beautiful ‘home from home’ is set in the glorious welsh countryside with wonderful panoramic views from the drawing room, dining room and also our bedroom When I say nothing was too much trouble I mean nothing was any trouble The stunning log fire was lit each evening for us & we were even allowed to drink our own wine which was chilled for us in the owners fridge with no charge The breakfast was truly glorious with all locally sourced produce and it was cooked to perfection and eaten whilst overlooking the stunning scenery We were advised to go out and look at the dark skies in the evening which we did & I saw the Milky Way for the very time in my life! Martin was a fountain of knowledge and let us his AA map book as we were going to Portmeirion and advised us to go the coastal route for the stunning scenery- he was right it was stunning He told us where we could see a flock of 100 Red Kites or more & we did ! He even told us the nearest place to buy fuel! His knowledge of his beautiful home is exceptional which added to the magical experience as you sit listening in wonderment as to who had frequented the house 100’s of years before - even a yew tree dating back to the 1100’s was in the surrounding gardens Every detail to make our stay perfect had been thought of even down to fresh milk in our room for a cuppa ... none of the revolting UHT cartoned milk to be found here !!! A truly delightful & peaceful stay where we were treated as extended family and made to feel right at home - Martin & co thank you 😊😊…
We had a lovely one night stay at this B&B, stunning location with amazing views. It is a lovely old building which is being sympathetically restored and a great deal of thought has gone into the decoration of each room, especially the feature wallpapers . We stayed in the Dome Room which is in the oldest part of the house, bed very comfy, lovely big bath room. Our hosts could not do enough for us, we had breakfast and evening meal, both delicious using fresh local ingredients. Highly recommend.
We managed to nab a last minute room here and it was wonderful. Martin and Rob who run it were so lovely we didn't want to leave! We stayed in for dinner on the evening which was amazing, and the breakfast in the morning was equally brilliant. The facilities in the room included a Nespresso machine, kettle, and a range of coffee, tea, and hot chocolate. There was a smart TV that we could log in to Netflix on and the bed was super comfortable. The en suite was spacious and clean, and shower was perfect. In the evening we settled in the lounge, which was a wood fire and very comfortable sofas. I cannot sing this places praises enough. If you get a chance you must go. We will definitely be going back.
Plas Esgair is a truly unique B&B with amazing views and friendly hosts. The mansion house is very beautiful with interesting decorations and quirky furniture. The rooms are thoughtfully furnished and extremely comfortable. What made our visit truly wonderful was how welcoming the hosts were to us. Even before arriving communication was very good and they were very accomodating during our stay. The food was delicious and was great to know that the food was locally sourced and fresh vegetables from the garden. Martin was a great host, always chatty and gave us great advice for places to go and eat. I would highly recommend staying at Plas Esgair when visiting mid Wales.
