When I arrived at CACHIMBA at 19:00 - no restuarant and I had been traveling all day and the guy at reception had no idea what the plan for breakfast was and they do not take credit cards. But then the new manager showed up and immediately his concern for the comfort of his guest could be felt. Giulian OWONO SIMBA is really trying to take CACHIMBA up to an acceptable level. He escorted me to breakfast every day at the local Patisserie and supplied pizza from the local take away every night. On the final morning he served breakfast to my room personally (with an Nespresso machine and pods). The hotel has a long way to go but that effort that Giulian made, made a big difference. The CACHIMBA has a long way to go but so long as Giulian is manager there I will go back.
Terrible service, rude hotel manager and lousy staff. The rooms are not bad. They have all the basics. Don't expect a garden or anything green at all. the hotel has a box feeling. Its just rooms and one restaurant. The hotel is operated by family members who don't know the first thing about providing service.
Sometimes difficult to find decent accommodation in POG, but the Scott is comfortable, the rooms are exceptionally large and the food is very good. Three minutes from the airport too.One word of warning though the bar prices are ludicrous. Use one of the bush bars across the road.
