We were booked into Hotel Mimose with a twin bedded room and balcony or terrace. On arrival, we were given the keys to a small room with one double bed, no balcony or terrace and a bathroom that resembled a cupboard with the shower directly over the toilet. (Now that's what you call a convenience!). When we declined the room and told the receptionist that we had booked two beds she replied that as we were friends she thought we wouldn't mind sharing a bed. My view is that it was not up to her to make assumptions about people she had not met. We heard her say she didn't know that 'T' stood for Twin beds so had misallocated the room. The manager had a 'couldn't care less attitude' and after much arguing and sitting around when he didn't even offer us a drink and avoided eye contact while merrily greeting other guests he finally said he had a solution. Regrettably, he thought we would settle for the double bed being removed from the room and two camp beds being installed. We declined this also and decided to stay at another hotel. After four hours we were transferred to Hotel Lido which was a bit shabbier than the Mimose but run by very professional people and was right on the beach. Margaret Smith and Avril Stewart …

Terrible food

My husband and I stayed at the Hotel Mimose in Limone in July 2006. The setting was quite nice and the centre was only a few minutes walk away but we did not rate this hotel at all. The breakfast buffet was very poor and the choice was limited and always the same. The dinner was again poor with not enough choice and very bland food and not enough of it. The rooms were clean although the shower was very small and the staff were nice. The resort of Limone although very pretty was too quiet with not enough choice of cafes, bars and shops. Nice for a day trip but boring to spend a whole week there. We were very dissapointed with the hotel as we read the reviews before booking and they were quite good. The location of the hotel was also very noisy. As the weather was extremely hot the lack of air conditioning throughout the whole hotel was a major problem and we had great difficutly sleeping. We did manage to hire a fan at a cost of 2 Euros a day but this did not really help. I am afraid we would not visit this hotel or resort again. Mrs J Jones Cheshire …

Best Holiday Ever!!

My wife and I stayed at the Mimose 4th-11th August 2005. The staff could not do enough for us. Hotel was great. Room was fine. Excellent 4 course meal each evening. Loved lazing by the tree encircled swimming pool. Pool was never packed with people. Hotel 2 min walk from all shops, bars and the Lake itself. We felt this was our best holiday ever. Thank you Mimose.

Excellent value

We booked this hotel with Page & Moy and were not disappointed. Ok, it may be a basic and functional, but we didnt stay in the hotel all day. The staff are very friendly and will do anything to assist. We found that the location was excellent and was an easy walk to and from Limone centre. We have to say thay that the food was brilliant. Four courses, fresh salad, a pasta dish, a meat dish followed by dessert. We have visited Italy on many occasions. This hotel is a typical 3 star hotel. What it may lack in its decor or modern amenities, it most certainly makes up for in its character and charm.

what a pity !

I stayed at this Hotel in June 2005. Chosen carefully as Limone is very hilly resort this Hotel is quite close to the lakeside along the ''Lungomare''. A superb position with spectacular views the really friendly and helpful small Staff do their best to keep guests happy in this run down faded and jaded Hotel. Stuck in the '70s the furniture and decor and general standard of the rooms - the place needs a complete refit. The MAJOR MAJOR problem is that there is no air conditioning anywhere in the Hotel let alone in the rooms! With temperatures in the top 30s - 40 this place is uncomfortable. Reception does hire out fans for 2 euros a day but doesn't have enough for all rooms! The food can only be described as basic. What a pity - superb location in a lovely town right on the shore.…
