Hi, from Rockwall. Was the snorkeling any good near beaches? Water's calm or rough. Overall how did you like Aruba, thinking of doing our summer vacation there. ages 15 to 81. Hotels any input. thankyou for writing a review it helps so much. welcome back to Texas.
On the way to Arashi from the high rise hotels are two smaller beaches: Malmok and Boca Catalina
Both are exceptional for snorkeling. If you go to Malmok in the early morning, you can be pretty sure of seeing turtles in the weed beds. A few years ago I spent 20 minutes with one - just the two of us hanging out!
Hi there, yes the water on all the beaches was really nice and calm. Probably the most beautiful beaches I've ever seen. Nice warm water. There was decent snorkelling at Arashi beach but the best place is called Mangel Halto. You can get there by car or there are some tour groups that will take you there too. I've heard snorkelling is good at Baby beach but we weren't there very long so I didn't try it. I really loved Aruba and I think it's great for all ages. Can't help with hotels because I stayed at an AirBnB rental. If you stay in the hotel area there's lots to do walking distance but I highly recommend renting a car and checking out the rest of the island, including Arikok National Park (you can also get there by booking an excursion from your hotel).
I absolutely love Aruba. We've been there many times over the last 10 years and will be back in October. With that said Aruba is not know for it's coral. Without coral there not much to see. The coral attract the sea life. snorkeling off a boat will fair to good. There are plenty of sunken ships are varying depths. The wrecks in time create coral which attracts beautiful sea life. There are not too many beaches that have coral right off shore. The surf on the beaches is usually pretty calm. The people of Aruba are just wonderful. I've always felt safe no matter where I went. There are tons of restaurants, many within walking distance of most of the hotels. Restaurants that are not in walking distance can be gotten to by taxi. If jewelry shopping is on your list Aruba is your place especially if your interested in watches. You can use US currency for any purchase. The exchange rate today is 1.79 florins to $1. If you have more specific questions don't hesitate to ask.
Mango Halto and Arashi beach are good to snorkel. Also good snorkeling at De Palm Island. For diving go with Happy Divers Aruba, Small boats and small groups. Antilla wreck is main dive attraction. For snorkeling look into Aruba Bob's Snorkeling. Having been to Aruba three times beaches are nice you also need to eat dinner at Flying Fishbone and Yemanja. For breakfast The Dutch Pancake House is a must. Crepes are out of this world. Hope this helps.
Hello,
The two best snorkeling is Mango Halto and Arashi beach. Honestly, good snorkeling is relative to what you seen before? For me, I would call the snorkeling .... good to fair. Assuming the ocean gives u a good visibility day. For me, the best thing about Aruba is the weather and Sand and the constant breeze(why there are no flying insects to bother you). We stay in a time share-Costa Linda, it's quiet, eagle beach, no crowds.... etc.
Hope this helps
Hi Texas
Diving and snorkeling are really great. Eagle beach is considered as the number 5 beach in the world. I love Aruba, good restaurants and 2 excellent supermarkets one with American products and the other more Dutch orientated. Nice bars on the water and if you like fresh fish go to the Zeerover. Simple but good. Choice catch of the day. Worth the trip. Going back next week to dive.
Go and enjoy best Niels
I can only comment on our one day there. the fish were fantastic, but it was windy and a bit rough. Hard to say on a different day at a different time of year.
Island is fairly built up with a lot of high end shopping from what we saw. Extremely pleasant though.
