We would highly recommend tours with Alma Arktika! We spent 6 days in the Karetörmä cottage over our spring break. We had the distinct pleasure of taking three different tours with Sami (two cross country skiing, one ice fishing/snowmobiling) and I'm pretty sure you would be hard pressed to find a better guide to spend your vacation time with! We are a family of three, our son is 15 yrs old, and we generally do things on our own when we are on vacation, maybe one or two guided activities at most over 1 1/2 to 2 weeks. This beautiful area definitely warranted a guide so we were apprehensive to book so many days with guided activities, but knew it was the way to go. Sami was incredibly knowledgeable and I'm quite confident more than capable to tackle anything that might come up. Most importantly, though, is the fact that he is just an awesome person to spend time with! He was so interesting, friendly, and patient and was great with our son. The cross country skiing terrain was definitely different than we were used to in the states so I was giving Sami a run for his money having to help me up lol! We thoroughly enjoyed talking to him and learning about this beautiful part of the world. I described it to my friends as a beautiful slice of (frozen) heaven! We were lucky enough to catch the northern lights three different evenings from the comfort of our lovely little cottage. We also did a husky tour and visited the reindeer farm, which was also fun and worthwhile! All in all, a perfect and quite memorable spring break vacation! We would go back in a heart beat and if we are ever lucky enough to make it back we will certainly be contacting Sami at Alma Arktika.

My wife and myself booked the snowkite camp but because of cancelation of other people we were only us two. For that reason we were placed in the cottage aurora. This cottage has everything you need and it is located by the river tana. We loved it and we were able two see the northenlight 3 times.
We were so lucky that we had 5 windy days and we were kiting in the nicest placed into the wilderness. The two guides looked after us very nicely and brought us to the best kiting spot in kaldoaivi. For a lunch break we had the possibility to warm us up in the hut hillagammi or in public huts
On our last day (we were exhausted from kiting) reetta organized a husky trip in norway. After that we spend some houres at a very nice fijord.
Everything was perfect organiced from picking us up a the airport over kiting and other activities. We realy enjoyed the week and it was worth the long travel.

Our goal is to give our kids memories rather than material things and this one was simply amazing. A beautiful location to relax and to discover authentic and pure Lapland. During our week Reetta & Hannu were always available. They organised all our arctic adventures from the amazing husky safari in Norway to snowmobiling in the arctic wilderness and reindeer farm visit. They also had equipment for us – it is easy to underestimate the cold! Everything was taken care of and simply the experience of a lifetime for us and our three young kids (11, 8, 5). We highly recommend this perfect holiday!

My partner and I had the most amazing time with Reetta and Hannu at Alma Arktika and genuinely couldn’t be more satisfied with our trip. Our accomodation at the Hillagammi hideout cottage was the perfect experience as it was just us in the Finnish Wilderness. We did the the snowmobile expedition with Hannu and managed to see the Northern Lights for hours. Hannu also took photos of us with the lights and they look terrific. We did the Husky experience into Norway with Retta which was so much fun. The dogs are friendly and clearly looked after. We will definitely visit again, maybe next time to see the midnight sun. Thanks Reetta and Hannu!

Reetta was very easy to work with and flexible. I'd recommend Alma Arktika for your rental needs. They can also recommend some good routes.

We had the most enjoyable time exploring this countryside and discovering the gracefulness of the local culture. Enjoyed the fresh air, unpolluted night sky and the majestic Aurora Borealis is an experience of a lifetime! Reeta has been a great host and we wish we could stay longer. Looking forward to our next visit!

We stayed 5 days in the little cottage near by Reetta and Hannu house.
It's the perfect place to see nothern light.
The cottage is perfect with a sauna a little room and a nice living room.
We did some activities with Reetta, we did not see her a lot it was the beginning of the winter season so lot of things to do.
We met Risto who helped Reetta and Hannu he is a very nice person and he show us around we really liked that.
If you like nature, it's the place to go ! Nuorgam it's not a touristic place that's why we really enjoyed it !
It's the perfect place to see nothern light.
The cottage is perfect with a sauna a little room and a nice living room.
We did some activities with Reetta, we did not see her a lot it was the beginning of the winter season so lot of things to do.

Oli ihana melontaretki syyskuulla Alapulmankijoella. Oli todella lämmin, aurinko paistoi kirkkaalta taivaalta, ei tuulen virettäkään. Kajakki lipui upeiden maisemien keskellä. Hyvät eväät tauolla mm. nokipannukaffit ja poron kuivalihaa. Kiitos vielä hyvin järjestetystä retkestä. Suunnitelmissa jos pääsisin ensi syksynä uudelleen ja viel pidempään. Sydämeni jäi sinne <3

We had a great 2 night 3 days kayaking trip starting from the mountains and ending up in the Arctic Ocean. Very diverse and very well organised trip! I recommend this place anyone enjoying wilderness, activities and Arctic!
