Definitely make a visit to the heart of Santorini to see the sunset which is on the west coast. Kamari is on the east coast so great for a sunrise

Food in Greece is cheaper than any other European countries I've visited. At Kamari beach we had fresh Sea Bass with salad/fries and non-alcoholic drink for 20-25 Eur. On the street a gyro can go around 5/EUR . As you walk along the beach there are many restaurants offering deals for lunch and dinner so I recommend browsing before making a decision. There's also Thai restaurant reasonably priced. Family of 4 with drinks for dinner 100/Eur and too full for dessert. The Ice cream/gelato along the beach will have to wait for our next trip.

Depends where you are staying tbh..we stayed 15 min walk to beach..

Hi we just came back and visited both beaches with our 9 y old . Perissa was ok , felt a bit “village .Had a lovely meal in Perissa beach, lots of restaurants and hotels right at the sea front . We preferred Kamari as hotels and surrounding seemed a higher standard although you could see the airplanes on top of you but my child find that interesting to watch. Also felt less windy in Kamari.
