We actually found this only by realizing the sign when driving N11. Not possible to park near, so we took a short walk and read information table of that hidden gem. Never before even heard about village Leinster,,,, so every day could give you a new information to learn.

A profound family experience that will be remembered for a lifetime. As my family name is Mogue, we feel a deep and profound connection to St. Mogue, Bishop of Ferns and this experience was of great importance to us all. We cherished the opportunity to see the cathedral, river, well, and home. It is something none of us will ever forget.

This is a historic well situated on the outskirts of Ferns. It is very pretty and is best enjoyed on a sunny day.

I live here in Ferns near St Mogues Holy Well, but its not just the well, Ferns was once the Capital City of Leinster,only a quaint village now , but still worth a visit there are still many ancient ruins including that of the kings castle. There is a visiter centre where you can learn the history of Ferns, Shops Restaurants, Pubs, Parking,you could spend a few pleasant hours here

It isnt a landmark as such, but simply a partway leading down from the main N11 Road through ferns. It is tiny and not much to see. But so many people stop by to fill up large drums of water from here. Horses for courses.

Nice surprising attraction, a bit of history, faith and fun. St Aidan's holly water supposed to have healing properties - we'll see :-)

This and the church are hidden gems. As most people, will spend all there time at Ferns Castle. After looking at Ferns we had a walk through town and stumbled on these two very worth while attractions. We walked around the site, read the information boards, and found to our suprise, that a king of Leinster, is even buried here.

I had read about the Holy Well online at the Ferns Village website: http://www.fernsvillage.ie/ferns-heritage-page53906.html
It is located on the N11 heading south just before you get into the village of Ferns. It is diagonally across from St. Edan's church. The well used to be located where the more ornate marker is, which is right on the side of the road. Once the current road was built, the well was re-routed a bit down the hill to a safer location. There is no parking available right next to the well. However, you can park up near the church and walk down, less than .25 mile.
Other sites of interest in the immediate vicinity include the grave of Dermot MacMurrough, King of Leinster during the time of the Norman invasion of Ireland, in the graveyard at St. Edan's; the ruins of the medieval cathedral, right next to the church; and the ruins of the Augustinian Abbey, which is in the field behind the church.

As far as I know Ferns area have taxi service available ? But better check it out, eg, via sites:wee wee wee dot fernsvillage. ie/ferns-heritage-page53906.h t. m l
Ferns Castle is much more larger / bigger place to visit if you happen to bypass this area. A little bit sleepy looking village / town, so better ask beforehand?
