What a great place to go during the christmas time. They have a train set up and up stairs has things set up, right now was the tree display.
They have come a long way over the past year. Very kid friendly, kids can play in the bank vaults along with a movie explaining the history in this area

If you have not visited the Franklin County Visitor's center, add it to your to do list. There is a wealth of information there with thoughtful displays and many educational pamphlets. I learned so much about our local history. The original bank vault houses displays as well. Bring the kids. There is something there for everyone.

This place is much more than just another visitors bureau that hands out flyers and suggests places to visit. (It does that too). But it is a fun story on how they repurposed the 1800's Chambersburg National Bank. You can explore the history of the bank and check out the local murals. There is a community room on the second floor that if not occupied with an event, is worth going up to check out the view. Also the Old Jail in downtown Chambersburg has a haunted house event in October that sounds amazing. Over 2000 people attended their first one in 2018 - and they claim this year's will be bigger and better. The downtown also has a nice little used bookstore, a couple of resale shops and friendly, locally owned restaurants.

My wife and I stopped by the FCVC in Chambersburg making our way down the Lincoln Highway. We were greeted by a very friendly and knowledgeable man (Dale, I believe) who provided us with more than enough info for future trips. Great wealth of knowledge can be found here. Stop by!!

I was very happy to see how nice the visitor center is. I was born in Chambersburg and remember this building being the bank my Grandparents used. It is very well done and the literature they have is amazing. We spent quite a bit of time in the center.

Ben is the original wood statue from the courthouse, rebuilt. Our guide was a local woman with some interesting comments to add, such as knowing people in the old photos and living in one of the historic homes. The videos are entertaining and informative. Nice gift shop too.

This is located in an old bank building, entry is free - there is a donation box.
Though small it has some interesting exhibits and a couple of short videos to watch.
if you are walking around town it is worth swinging in to.

We stopped here to obtain some useful literature and a Chamber Card (discount card). There is quite a variety of literature to choose and the Card obtains various discounts at participating Chambersburg area merchants. We left with our hands full. The ladies who tended the reception area were really helpful, too.
