Hospitality was five star, nothing too much trouble. Food was fantastic and served with great ease and professionalism. Clean and welcoming.

This is the third time we have been for a weekend breakfast at the golf club and on each occasion the food has been fresh, well cooked and presented as well delicious! I should also say that it is very good value! Well done!

We held a family funeral wake in one of the function rooms on the hottest of days in July.
The room was air-conditioned, spotlessly clean, plenty of space, buffet food fantastic and bar staff excellent. Nothing was too much trouble. Highly recommend.

Gillingham Golf Club is a very good challenging course. Not a long course but if you cannot hit the ball reasonably straight your next shot is likely to be difficult because of the trees.. Don’t underestimate the holes they are nearly all very challenging and a test of golfers of all standards.
The 19th hole is a very nice environment air conditioned and a nice balcony looking over the 18th green so you can sit and enjoy the well earned drink.
Unfortunately the clubhouse is very lapse in dress code, something I have never seen before at at any club previously played, you don’t even have to be of a reasonable dress standard as today it was a mixture of holiday bar with people with flip flops or sliders if they want to be trendy and working men’s club as there were clearly a number of people who had just come straight from working on a building site with no change of clothes for there Friday night drink.
I guess the club know what they are doing but I am told membership is normally always available and if I was considering joining, today’s impression would be course great , clubhouse customer dress very very poor - not really somewhere I could bring people for a drink or lunch as not shall we say an acceptable standard for a golf club. Come on Gillingham the standard in the clubhouse needs to be raised please everybody has standards but not as low as the dress code in the clubhouse

Really nice people everywhere we went from the green keepers to the Professional, the course was very soft but heyyy everywhere is at this time of year, the food basic but ohhh so good, I’m sick of fancy but unfilling food...Short version is I would go back in a heartbeat because of the speedy undulating greens and the staff attitude

We used Gillingham Golf Club for the second year and they did not let use down, the food was superb and the staff were fantastic, we had over 120 people attending and I did not hear a single complaint, the reason it is 4 stars and not 5 is they ran out of spiced rum towards the end of the night,

I was looking forward to a game of golf but being told rudely upon arrival in the pro shop to ‘tuck my shirt in’ like I was in year 7 at school immediately made my mind up not to return ever again (I didn’t even realise it was untucked!) While I understand and agree 100% with the reasons for dress codes on courses, there are ways to speak to people and ensure that people feel welcome, and I certainly didn’t. This isn’t the first instance I’ve seen or heard of someone being spoken to in this way unfortunately there either.
With regards to the golf the course is generally in good shape but the bunkers need some serious work. More stones in some of them than on Brighton beach.

Came here to play a round of golf in April using a raffle prize for a free 4 ball. It’s quite lucky the prize was free really as the course certainly isn’t the best I’ve played on. The adjoining hole fairways are literally next to each other, there was continuous times when people were popping on to our fairway and we was popping on theirs to make shots, the amount of times i heard 4 being shouted! I’m surprised no one got hit with a ball. You have to cross a main road to get the some of the holes, there’s no traffic lights or zebra crossing, you just have to take your chances. There was also a group of 4 older men playing behind us, we wasn’t slowing them down one bit, we was just very close as the holes are so close together. Anyway the steward came round and said to us we should let them through if they need to play through and they even called us over and said if we need to play through we have to let them. They was rubbish and wasn’t waiting for us one bit, and we was waiting for the people in front. We basically told them where to go, I couldn’t care less if they’re members or not! The clubhouse was ok for a beer after, there wasn’t a lot of atmosphere and it seemed like it was stuck in the dark ages!
I’m just glad it was free cos the 4 of us will never return!

Have been playing a few new courses this year and decided to write reviews to try and help. Played Gillingham a few weeks back now, the course is very nice, not that long but is quite tight so you need to be straight. 1st impressions are always when you enter the pro shop, unfortunately this was not good, the chap behind the counter was clearly lacking in social skills and had a manner that many people would have taken offence.I guess he must serve a role but greeting customers was clearly not it. Moving on the course played well and in very good condition though seem to hold on to winter tees for longer than would have expected. The clubhouse was excellent supplying good quality food & drink that was very reasonably priced.
Overall 7/10. would have given it higher but just couldn’t get the chap in the pro shop out of my mind he was really dreadful and I guess would put many off making a return visit

Booked up the golf club because of the excellent facilities that are on offer. Private room , catering was all organised and on time , lovely bar staff. Couldn't do enough for you. Had about 80 guests live entertainment. Great night. For functions with in house catering look no further. Brilliant place Good modern decor toilets impeccable. Highly recommended for private functions And no , I'm not a member of the club , you don't have to be to use the facilities. Benefits if you do join as a social member. Speak to the club direct. You never know you may take up golf !!
