Entertaining and different but certainly not a “must see”. The performance would have been much better had the foul language been kept to a minimum. The use of the “F” Word over and over and over again took away from what the night could have been.
While they advertised a full bar they only offered beer and wine during our performance.

These guys are amazing actors. They are simply beautiful to watch. They give us a blend of Shakespearian class and modern crude prose, salted with a pinch of sexuality and madness.

Best thing we saw/did all trip. Amazing show with incredibly talented cast of actors. I cannot recommend this highly enough. The show really lives up to its name, and a boozy fun time was had by all. The show manages to be respectful of Shakespeare's story while tearing it apart. The drinks are well pressed and high quality, the seating is a little uncomfy, but this is seemingly down to the venue layout and you soon forget when your having a good time
If you're nervous about audience interaction, ask to be seated at the back - it's a very intimate theatre. You won't lose any of the show magic back there, but may make anyone nervous more comfortable. I was in the front row and loved being right in the mix for all the mischief

I braved a tornado warning to see this joint and had a fantastic time--totally worth it. Going to a performance of a Shakespearean play can feel a little stuffy sometimes, and there's a place for that, but why not have a drink and have an interactive experience instead.

I cannot say enough good things about this! Must-do for sure! The show was HILARIOUS and the actors are so creative it's hard to wrap your head around where they come up with all of their ideas. They don't skip a beat and you'll be laughing the entire time. Whether you know a lot or a little about Shakespeare, this will definitely be a good time. This is a great idea for a work outing, friend outing, or date night. Either way, this does not disappoint! 90 minute, intermission-less show. Food and drink available during the show for purchase brought right to your seat. There are no bad seats in the theater either, although I wish the seats had a back rest, but the point of this intimate theater is to get up close and personal with the show and the actors. Doors open 15 minutes prior to showtime & now that it's 2023, no proof of vaccine is required. A+ all the way around!

On a recent St. Patrick’s Day visit to Chicago, my wife and I discovered a surprising treasure – Drunk Shakespeare. We had been discussing seeing a play and thought this might be an easy and fun way to ease into the Shakespearean experience. We were right!
The cast of four performed an entertaining rendition of McBeth.
The catch is that one of the actors drank four shots of alcohol before the play started and continued to drink throughout the play. As you can imagine, as the play went on, it became more difficult for the ‘drunk’ actor to remember their lines and keep up with the flow of the play. Nevertheless, there were many hilarious moments involving interactions between the actors and between the actors and the audience. Two members of the audience bid for the privilege of participating in the play as the King and Queen.
The theatre was designed in such a way to allow the audience to see the play and, at the urging of the cast, become active participants. There was not a bad seat in the house.
The price was very reasonable. Drinks and snacks were available, and they had an efficient system for ordering and delivering refreshments during the performance.
My wife and I, as well as the audience, laughed throughout the show. It was a wonderful unique escape. We enjoyed it thoroughly.
Drunk Shakespeare is an adult performance with spicey but not overly offensive language throughout.
They have troupes in New York and DC, as well as Chicago.
We highly recommend this experience. You will not be disappointed!

Must See! I wasn't expecting to much as usually this type of humor isn't my thing. It was a great night of laughs and because its called Drunken Shakespeare, you could go again and get a totally different experience. Getting tickets was a last minute decision and I am so glad we did.

We had so much fun. Yes, it’s Shakespeare but there was modern day humor and modern language thrown in. One cast member is chosen to drink 4 shots and perform. Audience members can bid to be king and queen and have some control over the show. We had a really good time. Very small theater, audience participation, drinks. What more would you want?

I was able to get discounted tickets for Chicago Theater Week. They performed Macbeth the night we went. (From reading reviews, it seems they might always perform Macbeth.) I loved the audience interaction and the improv abilities of the performers. We got a complimentary shot, and the cocktail I had was lovely.
You are sitting on bench seats. This isn't always an issue for me, but the man near us was taking up more than his allotted space so I was hanging off the end of the bench.
I would go again!

I really want to go to this but I suffer from back pain. What are the seats at the back like please? Is it a stool with a bench in front? There’s no way I can do the others up the front, unless I’m the queen.

The mezzanine or balcony level is a bench like 4 steps up and behind the bookshelves. So you could lean on the shelf in front of you. Like the others have said the staff is so accommodating they would get you a stool. And it would be totally worth it to go for the throne seats!
