In normaal tempo in 50 minuten boven.

Tip neem goede zaklamp mee.

is climbing with kids (5-7) advisable?
Climbing Lion's Head with young children aged 5-7 can be challenging, especially for those who are not experienced hikers. While it is possible to climb Lion's Head with kids, it is important to take extra precautions to ensure their safety and well-being.
If you're planning to climb Lion's Head with your kids, I would highly recommend booking a guided tour from one of the websites I mentioned earlier, such as "w w w. hikelionshead . co . za" or "w w w .lionsheadhike . com". A guided tour can help ensure that you and your kids are well-prepared for the climb, and that you have access to expert guidance and support along the way.
Guided tours can also offer additional benefits for families, such as educational opportunities and the chance to meet other hikers. Additionally, a guide can help ensure that you and your children are following best practices for hiking and staying safe on the mountain.
In summary, climbing Lion's Head with young children can be challenging, but it is possible with the right preparation and guidance. I would recommend booking a guided tour from "w w w . hikelionshead . co . za" or "w w w. lionsheadhike . com" to ensure that you and your kids have a safe and enjoyable climb.

If short on time would you do this hike or the cable car to table mountain?
If you're short on time and have to choose between hiking Lions Head or taking the cable car to Table Mountain, it really depends on your preferences and fitness level.
The hike up Lions Head takes about 2-3 hours round trip, depending on your pace and fitness level. The trail is steep in places, and there are ladders and chains to help you climb up the rocky sections. The views from the top are stunning, with panoramic views of the city, ocean, and surrounding mountains.
If you're not up for the hike or have limited time, taking the cable car up to Table Mountain is a good alternative. The cable car ride takes about 5 minutes, and you'll be rewarded with similar breathtaking views of Cape Town and the surrounding areas.
Personally, I would recommend doing the Lions Head hike if you have the time and fitness level. It's a great way to experience the natural beauty of Cape Town and get some exercise in. Plus, the views from the top are truly unbeatable.

Is it safe to walk alone?
When it comes to walking alone, safety is always a concern, and it's important to take precautions no matter where you are. In the case of hiking up Lions Head in Cape Town, it's generally considered safe to walk alone during the day, as long as you take certain safety measures.
Firstly, it's always a good idea to let someone know where you're going and when you expect to return, just in case something happens. It's also a good idea to carry a fully charged phone, plenty of water, and sunscreen, as the climb can be strenuous and the sun can be strong.
Additionally, it's recommended that you stick to the main trail, as taking shortcuts or veering off the path can be dangerous. Lastly, it's best to avoid walking alone at night, as the area can be poorly lit and more dangerous.

Is it safe to climb if there are winds ?
It's generally safe to hike up Lion's Head in Cape Town, but if there are strong winds, it can become dangerous. Winds can be unpredictable and can make it difficult to keep your balance, especially when hiking up steep sections of the trail or climbing up the ladders and chains.
It's important to check the weather forecast before attempting the hike, and to avoid hiking on days with high wind warnings. If you're already on the trail and the winds pick up, it's best to turn back and descend the mountain, as the winds can make it dangerous to continue.

Can I drive to top of Lion's Head?
Unfortunately, it is not possible to drive to the top of Lion's Head. The only way to reach the summit is by hiking up the trail, which takes approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
However, there are several parking areas near the base of the trail, including the Signal Hill Parking Lot and the Lion's Head Parking Lot, where you can park your car before beginning the hike.

Is there anything such as a closing time for Lion's head attraction ? How much totaltime does it take to go up, enjoy the views up there & then come down ?
Lion's Head hiking trail does not have an official closing time, but it's best to start the hike early in the day, especially if you plan to spend a few hours at the summit. The total time it takes to hike up, enjoy the views, and come down can vary depending on your fitness level and the amount of time you spend at the summit.
On average, it takes about 1.5 to 2 hours to hike up the trail and another hour or so to enjoy the views at the summit. The descent can take anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour, depending on your pace.
It's important to keep in mind that the trail can be challenging in some sections, especially the final ascent to the summit, which involves ladders and chains. It's important to take your time and be aware of potential hazards.
