Ik ben van Iloilo en momenteel werkt in Manilla en geproefd hebben zoveel lechon in mijn 30 + jaar van bestaan en ik moet zeggen Carcar lechon is de beste! Ik zal nooit eten lechon dezelfde manier weer! Zodra u aankomt in hun markt krijgt binnen en vraagt waar de lechons zijn, Cebuanos zijn extra vriendelijk dus aarzel niet om hulp te vragen. De prijs van de lechon is 350 /kilo. Super goedkoop! Lechon leveranciers geven een gratis voorproefje van hun lechon en haar tot wie zou je kiezen. U kunt eten in de carenderia naast de lechons bestelt gewoon één vien van hen. Het vlees 2.5.7 . lechon is zo sappig en smakelijk in tegenstelling tot andere lechons, flauw en taaie. OMG die ik nooit zal vergeten het gevoel als engelen uit de hemel toen ik had mijn eerste hap van de beroemde Carcar lechon. Goddelijk!

The Carcar Public Market is really worth a stop. The people are very friendly and I liked the atmosphere of Carcar in general. Great stop along the way from Cebu City to Moalboal or any other destination.

carcar public market is known for its lechon, the price is cheap at 400 per kilo, the lechon meat is very juicy and tender but the skin are not crispy. lots of chicharon, ampao and foodstuff for pasalubung to chose from.

Carcar公共市場位在鎮中心地帶，是一座規模還滿大的市場，除了常見的蔬果跟雜貨外，這裡的特色就是有一專售烤乳豬的攤區，雖然看起來有點嚇人，但事實上這是當地人最喜愛的美味之一

Tasty Lechon and Chicharon

After Simala visit, we went here for lunch. To get a taste of what they say the best lechon and Chicharon in Cebu. And I've proven it true. We ordered half kilo (Php200), enough for 2-3 persons. If you want to dine in, you can eat from any of the carinderia nearby but has to order meals from them too. So they won't charge you for bringing outside food. Prepare to pig out! Delish! and take home that crunchy chicharon on your way back to cebu city like we did. Perfect to beat the traffic during rush hour. XD

Home of the Original Lechon Cebu in the South!

This place offers great tasting lechon at the rawest it can be- among the regular folks of the south. So if you're craving for lechon and want to try something that's a treat for the tongue, this place is the right way to go. P.S. Look for the Lechon stalls that offers "saba" sauce to complement their product and you're in for a treat!

Park your hungry butt in Carcar for real street food

Carcar City is between Cebu City and the more picturesque southern areas of Cebu island. If you're returning (for example) from Oslob back to Cebu City in the evening, it's definitely worth getting off the bus in Carcar and having dinner here. The market offers a distinctly Filipino version of street food with dozens of vendors. It's open from sunset to around 10pm.

Granted, street food in the Philippines can't compare to other parts of Asia, but you'll get some good grub and have an authentic experience eating like a local. Notice the absolute lack of Western tourists, which I think is a great thing. It's super cheap and there's great variety. There's nothing like sitting on a plastic stool with your lechon rice watching noisy traffic zoom by while enjoying the simple charms of Philippine rural life.

The market is precisely at the Carcar City rotunda which doubles as a transit hub. As such, it's super easy to find a bus going to Cebu City once you're done.

We visited this market after swimming with the whalesharks in Oslob and returning back to Cebu.

It was great to see the famous Car Car Lechon on offer by the various vendors which I know several restaurants like Lechon House use in their restaurant. Its a very delicious lechon.

At the market you will also see fruit and vegetables.

Its a local market so you are unlikely to see any tourists.

El sitio es un mercado filipino , para ellos y nada turístico, pero merece la pena ir por comer el cochinillo. Increíblemente bueno para la apariencia que dan los puestos y como lo tienen . Te lo ponen en una bolsa con salsa. El precio supongo que será para turista 400 PHP el kilo. Con medio kilo por persona es una ración suficiente, puedes comerlo en los bares de alrededor directamente de la bolsa con la mano y pedir la bebida allí . Son muy amables en todo el recinto y eso que de entrada no parece nada para turistas . Una experiencia muy buena.

The Authentic Lechon Experience

Eat freshly cooked lechon at P400/kilo. Go lechon sampling from one vendor to the next and pick the best one. You can also enjoy it right there and then with their partner food stalls. No utensils here. Just order rice, drinks and maybe extra viands.

The place is generally clean, odor and flies free for a public market.
