Over
Tours zijn een keer per dag om 11 uur en zijn 2 uur lang. Onze wijngaard- en wijnmakerijwandeling neemt je mee achter de schermen in de wereld van wijnmaken - een echte ‘druif tot glas’ ervaring. Loop door de wijngaard en het wijnhuis met de wijnmaker om de processen te bekijken om van druiven naar flessenwijn te komen. Sluit af met een begeleide proeverij met zes van onze huidige wijnen.

Our tour started with a visit to the vines where we learnt about growing, pruning and picking the frut and how this affects the end product. We were then shown the wine making process with a focus on what makes an excellent wine. We finished with wine tasting which was greatly enhanced by an understanding of the many factors which contribute to the overall taste. Our tour was with the owner Chris, who has a wealth of knowledge and a love of wine which came across in his willingness to answer our many questions. We can't recommend this trip more highly and it was a highlight of our trip to New Zealand. Ash Ridge also make great wines.

Great place for a (sunny) Sunday afternoon.
We went here today, had a stroll along the Craft stalls, a lovely glass of wine at the picnic tables shared a few delicious pizzas, while listening to a young guy playing his guitar and singing beautifully. Great company! Thanks for a lovely afternoon Ash Ridge team!

We were looking for a tour of a single winery where we got to learn about the winery and their processes (i.e. not _just_ drink wine).
There didn't seem to be many options for these in the area, but this one was exactly what we were looking for.
We got a detailed tour with Lauren (the winemaker), which was interesting, informative, and clear. She took us to a bunch of different places around the winery, told us about many parts of the wine making process from growing the grapes to choosing the barrels at the end, and then we got to sample some wines which came with a bit of a lesson in how to properly approach a tasting (which we liked).
The whole thing was fun and laid back, a great way to spend a couple hours.
Well worth it.

We were honoured to be shown around the vineyard by owner Chris who has designed this fantastic tour. The premise is that you will learn the intricacies of wine making but in an easy to understand style (coupled with Chris’ somewhat dry sense of humour!)
From a trek around the “blocks” to the tasting of the end product, including some fun, “think outside of the box” wines which Chris has let his young winemakers loose on, this tour definitely delivers.
Overall the tour and tasting is way above some of the bigger guys who simply employ students to pour a few glasses!
Thoroughly recommended; give it a try!

The guided tour was really interesting and so much more informative than any other winery visit we've done. Chris was really knowledgeable and presented a whole new side of the wine making business.
Thoroughly enjoyed the tour, and the beautiful wines we got to taste at the end of it!

Huge thanks to Chris for the guided tour from the vines to the winery to the cellar door. Very informative, we were surprised at the amount of work that goes into each bottle of wine. Great tasting at the end, getting to sample the end product. We also indulged in some lunch which was super tasty. Super stoked to have won this fantastic treat - Thanks Ash Ridge.

I went on a solo tour as part of my travels through the bottom of the north island. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable, and engaging. I definitely would recommend to anyone interested in wine-making, anyone wanting more confidence when it comes to choosing and tasting wine, or if you just like to learn about new topics!
The tour went through the wine fields: with information about the vine growing, pruning, ripening, etc.
Then we took a look at the equipment and space used to crush the grapes and ferment the wine.
And finally, a tasting to get a feel for how the process plays out in terms of flavors.
So glad I booked a tour and took the time, I would happily do it again!

We were treated to a great tasting. Excellent range of wines presented in an informative and fun manner. The atmosphere in this relatively small family winery was great. The wines were the best we’ve had out of 6 different wineries. Really excellent visit.

Thanks Chris and team for your Knowledgeable insight into the making of good wine, from the vine to bottle. A down to earth insight of the vineyard, winery and of course the 'how to' for wine sampling and appreciation. Will be recommending this tour.
