Stopped in for lunch as part of a wider cidery, brewery and winery self tour. So glad we did!! Our first visit here. The food menu isn’t large but had good variety. Our party of four all thoroughly enjoyed what we ordered. The bao buns and onion rings in particular were the best any of us have had! We live fairly close so will certainly return again.

Started with Kate the host and it kept getting better. She was at the door and guaranteed “Awesome “…and it was.
Cauliflower tacos and Cheese Burger Salad was great. (Swapped the vegetarian pat for the meat one).
The house made ginger beer was delicious.

While the burger was tasty, its accompanying side, fries, was not! I remarked on this as I left the establishment, having left the greater majority of the chips as I had found them unpalatable. I'd recommend a review of frying methods as those on offer were fried to a frazzle!

Hidden away in an industrial area of Hastings, Roosters is rustic, welcoming and friendly. Start with the 5 glass tasting tray to determine what you are drinking and then order from a wonderful American/Asian menu. Our favorites were the loaded fries with Pulled Pork, jalapenos and delicious cheese sauce, Bao buns and pork filled dumplings.
The beer was excellent especially the draught and dark ale. A great way to spend an afternoon, but decide who is driving home before you get there. Enjoy, we did!

Small portions. We both ordered the beef and blue cheese burgers. The burger patty was cooked well, however was very small, with a tiny amount of blue cheese. The hand cut fries were tiny, 2-3cm "off-cuts" . We ordered the beer tasting selection and the ginger beer which we enjoyed the most. Wouldn't visit again.

Went there for a staff lunch.The meals were all preordered and arrived in reasonable time.I had ordered beer battered fish and fries and the first plate of this dish was coming my wy and I thought ,no thanks it looks a bit over done?luckily someone else at the table had ordered the same and took the plate before it got to me.I breathed a sigh of relief hoping for a better example!This was not to be and all the dishes had a dark over cooked look including the fries.I think it was just a matter of the cooking oil was in dire need of a change.Good value meals are well and good but you have to get the basics right and set your standards.

Service is quick, portions as decent and they have great drinks here, all home brewwed.
Really good ginger beer.
The only slight issue when we were there was the music was on the fritz a little, but nothing serious to take stars off.

A good array of brews and typical pub menu. Lots of flys though and the beers are not as cold as needed on a hot day.

Dropped in here for a casual lunch and a drink. The staff were great, very accommodating and friendly, the food came out quickly and the place has a great vibe...ticked all the boxes! We will certainly return.

Back in the bay again and have just been to Roosters, well this rustic charmer is a must especially coming into summer for visitors and locall alike. I did however indulge in the food. Fish and chips does not quite do justice to the yummyness of the beautiful battered pieces of gurnard and the homemade chips( oh yes old fashioned yum) these came with a lovely fresh coleslaw, herb aoli and lemon wedge. Yum yum yum. This was enjoy by one other of my companions while the other one had six traditional steamed pork dumplings, these little gems were equally tasty and enjoyed thoroughly. So nice to rediscover little charmers like Roosters. They also serve a number of brews for those wanting to quench their thirst!
