A unique and enjoyable experience. We went as a couple, and of course men to one side women to the other. We were sold temporary knickers, but the men do not use them- so tell them you have some trunks to avoid paying 1 euro for them guys, women apparently do use them but no idea why. You need to shower for at least 5 mins first- then up to 30 mins in the very thick mud, then stand in the sunshine for 10-15 mins. And then shower, and make sure you get a good strong one- you push buttons hanging form the ceiling but some of the showers are much better than others, and really a massage in themselves. It’s good to sit and relax for a while afterwards, iced tea and an ice cream together cost 3 euros

Trying to get into a spot in the mud pool was hilarious unfortunately they are segregated so I was only own but still giggled. Then a group of Russians got in even though we could not speak to each other we communicated though laughter
We also ate at the restaurant opposite couldn't find it on here to review which is a shame. It was one of the best meals we've had

A little outside of the beaten path, the mud baths at Krinides, next to the ancient theater of Phillipon, is a destination worth the travel.
A naturally mineral-rich mud, thought to have healing properties, enriched by the natural spring water coming in from the ground, you enter, cover yourself, and let the clay do its magic.
Plan for a couple of hours, start to finish. May want to call ahead as there is a limit to the capacity. Men and women are segregated -- this may not be intuitive, but bathing suits complicate your wading in the mud. Embrace your inner hippo, cover yourself, and indulge.

It is not the first time we have visited Krinides mud baths. Every time the facilities seem very well maintained and better for use. Staff very helpful. Before you enter the baths the first day the house doctor takes your blood pressure and after some medical questions approve your entry to the baths. As people enter the mud area naked men and women area has separated for obvious reasons. It is recommended a shower with mineral water before entering the mud area, it is the water pressure so strong in order to have the mud out of your body when finishing your bath.
We go to the baths for the experience and for the well being although we hear it heels also some illness. Overall a very good and different experience for us we like thermal baths and the cost is only 6 Euro. If you are in Kavala, Drama area in the North of Greece it is worth visiting for a day, the area around the baths is full of green with good facilities, restaurant, cafe and a Hotel if you like to stay for more.

Φανταστικός χώρος για χαλάρωση ευεξία και ξεκούραση. Ο χώρος που λειτουργεί το πηλοθεραπευτήριο άψογος και καθαρός. Δυστυχώς τις μέρες που μείναμε δε λειτουργούσε ακόμα το Υδροθεραπευτήριο. Υπάρχει η δυνατότητα διαμονής σε πεντακάθαρα τροχόσπιτα όπως επίσης και ελεύθερος χώρος για σκηνές. Το εστιατόριο που λειτουργεί μέσα είναι πολύ καλό με σπιτικές γεύσεις.Όλα σε τιμές προσιτές. Ευγενικό και πολύ εξυπηρετικό προσωπικό. Η επίσκεψη επιβάλλεται!

Ωραίο φυσικό περιβάλλον, καλαίσθησία σε όλες τις ανθρώπινες παρεμβάσεις: πέτρινα σπιτάκια, εξαιρετικά φροντισμένος και όμορφος κήπος, άψογη καθαριότητα σε όλους τους χώρους, ευγενικό και χαμογελαστό προσωπικό, μασάζ από έμπειρο και κατηρτισμένο προσωπικό, φαγητό νοστιμότατο σε τιμή πακέτου.... τι άλλο να πω! Δυνατότητα διαμονής σε τροχόσπιτο ή σκηνή καθώς και σε ενοικιαζόμενα δωμάτια, με λίγα λόγια, άριστη αξιοποίηση της θαυματουργής λάσπης, με απλότητα και ομορφιά. Έμεινα κατενθουσιασμένη!

We enjoyed the Krinides Mud Baths a lot! The whole experience was better than we expected. The entire facility is very well maintained and includes a wonderful garden with roses and birds singing. There was hardly anything going on and the staff was extremely friendly and spoke English (and German) very well. We had our baby son with us and thought that we would take turns in the mud baths (which are separated by gender anyway). However, the women at the counter even offered to babysit him for the duration of our stay! What a service! The mud baths themselves are great fun and very relaxing due to the weightlessness. Afterwards, we had great lunch at the café vis-à-vis the baths. All in all, a wonderful experience and we would highly recommend it!

Yes it is open from 1 June-30 September,every day from 8:00-17:00 the last mud bath.You should get out of mud by 17:30.What do you mean by best time??Less people??perhaps late afternoon
