Truly ridiculous! The best experience we have ever had in CR! Mike is one of those people who is absolutely living his best life! His presentation is animated, informative & passionate! The jungle walk tour is the same. This was our second tour with Mike & we will return. I have never learned so much in such a condensed period of time. Our group was 26-60 years old and we all had the same opinion… absolutely fantastic, not to be missed and truly an event to be repeated. You will not be disappointed! Thank you Mike for all your passion!

We thoroughly enjoyed our tour of the Butterfly Farm. Mike was very knowledgeable and made the tour interesting and fun. We saw lovely butterflies, bees, and dragonflies in their environment and we had a bonus visit to the bat tree. I recommend buying his honey if you can.

I visited with my family and we were blown away by the unbelievable passion and knowledge that Mike brought to the tour, as well as his undeniable respect and appreciation of the Costa Rican Jungle. The tour was informative and exciting, and we often found Mike getting lost in his stories-so excited and in love with the information he was sharing. Every question we threw at him he knew the answer to. Our tour ended up running a bit long (in a wonderful way) because there was just soo much fascinating information to hear from a man who is clearly living his best life. On top of that, all the amazing hand painted souvenirs will make for excellent reminders of our time. Highlight of our visit to Costa Rica- We will definitely be back!

We had a fabulous guided tour of Mikes farm. So much to see and learn. Mike was a fantastic guide, who is so passionate and knowledgable and a good laugh.
It was all really interesting but the best bit for us was learning about the angel stingless bees and the honey is divine!
Highly recommended, you won’t be disappointed

We had an incredible time here with our 4 boys recommended by Connie and Ingo at Totobe. Mike has a wealth of knowledge about all creatures great and small, and his small jungle is fascinating from the beautiful butterflies to the helicopter damselflies, and tasty termites! Mike is the perfect host and gave us the opportunity to taste and purchase his incredible range and tasty and super healthy honey. Thank you!

What a fascinating time we had! This isn’t one of those “bugs in netting” experiences. Mike, the owner and entomologist, takes you on a two-hour hike through his property, showing you butterflies, damsel flies, termites, bees, bats and bugs in their normal habitat, while teaching you all kinds of interesting details about them. He is extremely knowledgeable, very enthusiastic, and a completely engaging instructor. We loved every minute of the tour, and left laden with honey, soap and everything else we could buy. This was one of the highlights of our four months in Costa Rica. Thank you, Mike!

I almost died when Mike poked a whole in a termite nest and billions of them came out. Then he had us all try them... “just like pine nuts” he said.

Mike, the owner, is friendly, engaging, and extremely knowledgeable. This tour was great, our group learned so much and were able to view some pretty extraordinary things in nature. No review or words can adequately describe this experience. My recommendation is to get signed up for a tour. Try everything, and bring enough cash for products/souvenirs. They have the most amazing natural products, honey, and coconut oils. You will want to bring a little bit of everything home with you.
It is a beautiful, natural landscape and you can tell Mike and his family have thought of everything and put loving touches to every aspect of the tour. Make this trip a 'YES' trip, where you say yes and have an unforgettable experience.

DO NOT MISS THIS FARM!!!!! The owner, Mike, is one of the most energetic and enthusiastic people I have ever met. I don't know that I have ever met anyone so into their work and who so clearly loves what he is doing and where he is doing it. His knowledge of insects (Don't you DARE call them bugs!) is amazing, and his love of insects, especially those with stings (Do NOT call them stingers!!) is obvious.
We met Mike as he was finishing cleaning up after a band of marauding cows had invaded his farm, eaten some bushes, and - being cows - had extensively decorated his grounds with their souvenirs. But that did nothing to dampen his mood in the slightest. I thought I new a fair bit about insects, but I learned so much more. His tour down into the rainforest does require the ability to walk, but beyond that this is for everyone, young and old. The termites were tasty, but not as tasty as the various types of honey he produces that we sampled. This was far and away the highlight of our trip. Thanks again, Mike!!
