The Anne Lister walk was brilliantly done, with some choice quotes from Anne Lister's journal, and it was good fun. "Anne Lister" was very considerate in how she led the tour, and waited for everyone to be ready to hear what she had to say. She showed us a good selection of key Buxton spots that she spent time in.

We went on the ‘four women of note’ tour held by Netta. Netta was an excellent tour guide, very enthusiastic and knowledgeable - she spoke for over 2 hours and we didn’t want her to stop! A great experience that would recommend to anyone coming with family or as a couple - Netta is friendly and engaging and it’s a pleasure to see how much she loves the town. Excellent!

On a very rainy Saturday we went on the Anne Lister tour of Buxton. It was so interesting and we learned lots, as we had no idea Anne went to Buxton. ‘Anne’ was fabulous and the perfect guide. She was particularly helpful in adapting the tour to avoid steps as my daughter, who is a huge fan, is a wheelchair user. This was done very kindly without any fuss and was much appreciated.
It was a brilliant, informative, beautifully written and delivered piece.

Excellent walking tour by Discover Buxton for our WI group. Very informative can fully recommend Cavendish Golf Club for lunch afterwards. Great time had by all.

We (a couple from Switzerland and a cousin from Canada) massively enjoyed being guided around Buxton by Netta. With the focus on food, we sampled exquisite handmade chocolates, then ate our fill of scrumptious local cheeses while being instructed by Tina on the characteristics of the four beers we sampled. The (figurative) icing on the cake was a Buxton pudding in a charming cafe cum antique shop. All the while, Netta was explaining the important sights we passed with the result that the hours spent in her delightful company added to our knowledge as well as to our waistlines. Many thanks to Netta for her expert and very charming company and to the hosts at the places we visited.

Our guide Netta took us on a 2-hr walking tour of historic Buxton. She has encyclopaedic knowledge and great enthusiasm. We heard why Mary Queen of Scots went to Buxton and how the Spa water is free to all and always warm. It tastes of water. We viewed the Conservatory, the Opera House, the Crescent and the Dome, as well as the baths which are now a shopping arcade but retain a ducking stool. A great introduction to the town.

Netta was a fabulous guide... knowledgeable with historical facts and the three hour tour was a joy as her passion for Buxton with her sense of humour shone through. It was a shame when it ended as she was so engaging with all of us...a group of fourteen sixty year old school friends celebrating their 60th birthdays together for the weekend. Ali was a great photographer who also filled us in on local knowledge along the way. Would highly recommend ☺️☺️

Family of five: booked a two hour walking tour - accommodating a member with mobility difficulties - many thanks to Angela for providing an interesting talk. We would have overlooked many valuable insights into the history of Buxton, if we hadn't been on this tour. Well worth booking!

Let me tell you we have quite a doggy following! Yes of course they are but we do ask if you will just check out with your fellow passengers that everyone is okay with a dog.

Are you the people booked at 11? if you get there about 10.50 the driver or our rep will be there.The festival fringe desk will have opened in our office so it will be a little hectic but we will sort you out!!

Can a wheelchair be used please

Although wheelchairs cannot get on board we can store them in our office about 30 feet away. There are two shallow steps on to the vehicle and you can use the back of the vehicle to pull up. We usually take the chair right to the steps wheel back into the office and reverse on our return. There is more information in our accessibility information on the website .Hope this helps.

Yes we welcome dogs free of charge however because the vehicle is small we ask that you check with your fellow passengers that they feel comfortable with your dog.
