I chose the tulip field tour because of its emphasis on a small group and Leander's knowledge of the area. Before the tour, he warned me that the brutal spring had demolished most of the tulip fields, and he offered me a refund. He however proposed an alternative- a trip to one tulip field and then a trip to a windmill- in essence, two tours in one! Of course, I decided to go. It was everything I hoped for- congenial group and an extremely knowledgeable guide who knows the area- we learned about tulip culture and windmill culture, and feasted on apple pie. And yes, there were enough tulips to indulge in instagram ready pictures. We had the rain that Amsterdam is notorious for at that time of year but it just added to the fun. (bring rain hats!) I highly recommend this trip and am certain that his country tour would also be good.
By the way, if you go for the tulips , don't limit yourself to Keukenhof, as gorgeous as it is- the patterns and colors of the tulip fields will bring joy to your heart.
