This museum has a nice mixture of traditional display cases and immersive settings. The social history exhibition about conditions for workers was very good and seeing the inside of the kiln was a real highlight. Outside had great views of the unusual buildings and walking along the canal was lovely.

As a lasting, active, living memory of the British industrial past, this provides an amazing insight into times long gone by. The kilns are impressive in their own right but add the comprehensive display of a multitude of early Victorian household china ware and the friendly staff, especially the explanation of what a Saggar Maker's Bottom Knocker did and you have a great mornings exploring. Take in the other local industrial sites to gain an insight of how this and the other sites all came together along the beautiful Severn valley. Unfortunately the tar tunnel was closed , it is the most surprising use of human ingenuity in utilising the local natural resources.

Not as good as I was expecting. Shop prices more expensive than the shop in Ironbridge for the same products.
Make sure you get the parking ticket on arrival.

Maybe it would have been better outside Covid period. We were expecting to see some activities going on but all the workrooms were empty and no demonstrations. It felt like everyone had taken tea break at the same time. Very interesting information. It was somewhere that was part of our Ironbridge Gorge Museums Annual Pass which was a good thing as I would have been really disappointed if I had paid the full price for entry

Had a brilliant trip to Ironbridge this August, including a clay workshop with Justine (loved by our three kids, 8, 5 and 3 and resulting in some lovely models we're all very pleased with - she was very patient, kept things simple and fun but still gave us a great product), and a tar tunnel tour with Dylan which was fascinating and moved fast enough that we could keep the little ones with short attention spans from running off (/into the canal) and also satisfy ourselves and our oldest history buff son with understanding some of the history of the area. We thought we'd read up on it but we learned so much more hearing Dylan explain it in person. Highly recommend both the workshop and the tour!

We parked along from the museum as we were walking elsewhere, the car park at the museum is chargeable. We had purchased an Annual visitor pass for a lists Hill so this museum was included in the ticket price. It was good to understand more about the manufacturing process, look inside a kiln to see how products are packed for firing. The old buildings have been well restored. Seeing the beautiful China was interesting but as Coalport cottage collectors we were disappointed be the poor display. Not really suitable for young children

Very interesting few hours spent here learning about the history of China production in the area. Amazing to see the original buildings still intact.

Great museum. Really informative and sets out just how important ironbridge was in the production of iron with some great exhibits and of course preserved factory works. More one for adults than young kids

Visited the Museum mid afternoon after a busy morning. The museum was extremely interesting but probably didn’t have enough time and energy to do the exhibits justice. The highlight of the visit was the workshop where the lady (sorry can’t remember her name) was wonderful. Explained the history of the works and the processes involved. Very informative but also very entertaining. She also was very informative about the whole of visitor attractions in the whole of Shropshire. She should be employed by the Shropshire tourist board
