Over priced . 2 medium glasses of pinot Grigio £20. Great night at theatre but would avoid bar. Plenty of alternatives nearby. Will certainly not be using again.

Dreadful bar, they’ve stocked the cheapest brands possible but charge the highest prices, a bottle of poor quality lager (no choices) was £8.50 and a glass of cheap Australian red wine was £10.50. Not only this but they tried to serve the wine in a crappy plastic cup. Indoor drinking so no need for plastic, they showed as little regard for the environment as they do for the customer. After some arguing I got a proper glass.
This bar more than anywhere I’ve been abuses it’s position for maximum profit. If you’re going to charge eye watering prices perhaps give some thought to the customer experience. I felt really sorry for the staff who were embarrassed at the standards, really not their fault.

One small and one medium size glasses of a fairly average white wine. £18.60. Roughly the cost of 3 bottles.

On arrival bar packed with customers, very few staff.Hardly any seats to number of customers. Most customers waiting orderly but odd few trying to push through. Staff couldn't keep track of customers, kept having to ask who was next which is fine except that they then ignored responses. One lady by us had been waiting forty minutes and had responded saying she was next each time that was asked very clearly. We were waiting 25 minutes. Real ale on offer was doombar at £6.50 a bottle. No justification for those prices, or poor abrupt service.

The Piano Bar offers a pre Theatre 2 course meal and my husband and I visited last night with the intention of having a meal before seeing the show. (Kinky Boots) We had booked and ore paid online a table for 6.15 pm and arrived slightly earlier. We were pleasantly greeted and offered a choice of tables. The tables are set out in a long narrow area down a few steps away from the bar. Several choices per course were on the menu. We quickly selected our meals, Fish cakes each for starters and a burger and a fish pie for mains. We ordered drinks which arrived quickly. There were 4 other couples already seated two of whom were already eating. Another couple came in after us. Our starters were served after a little wait and were very nice. However that's when the problem started. We realised time was going and no sign of our mains. We sat expecting our food to arrive, time was ticking and the show was due to start at 7.30pm. At 7.05pm we asked how long it was going to be, we were told it's a small kitchen and the fish pie takes a long time. Our mains arrived at 7.13 pm. (We noted The couple who arrived after us were served shortly before us and one also had fish pie). My fish pie consisted mainly of mashed potato, very little fish and extremely hot to eat (considering I only had minutes to eat it). My husband said his burger was ok, nothing special however his chips accompanying his meal were luke warm . There were no condiments on the table and no further drinks were offered.
The young girl serving us did apologise for the delay and as a gesture of good will told us the drinks were on the house.
I heard the ladies who arrived after us say they were getting worried they wouldn't have time to eat. My husband and I visit the Hippodrome a lot and normally have a meal at 6.15 pm in the Bella Italia and even with the walk across the centre, always have plenty of time before the show . We definitely won't be eating in the Piano Bar in future given our experience, which slightly spoilt the evening.

Went for pre theatre drinks & was shocked at the price of four drinks two of which were non alcoholic. Charged over £20! The cost of theatre tickets are expensive enough without further exploiting theatre goers. Come on Bristol Hippodrome be more realistic with your prices. Will not be drinking here again & suggest readers of this review avoid too.

We did the murder mystery evening at the piano bar. Be warned the drinks are very expensive. The food was awful and the entertainment was only just ok. The staff were friendly though. The Irish coffee was the worst I have ever had though it was basically a normal coffee and they tipped some whiskey in and charged 11 quid for it...a disgrace! Avoid....

Friendly service but pretty meagre food on offer. Also, the night we went it seemed that a lot of the food was not in stock or a change to which curry you could have.
Food was not plentiful but maybe we were feeling greedy ha!
My other half to like the cookie skillet desert though. Nice piano music in the background giving it an oldy feel to it which I like.
My other half and I did have stomach upsets the same night and the next day but can't 100% blame it on this eatery but thought it was worth mentioning incase anyone else suffers with a bout bout of tummy upset.

After an afternoon matinee at The Hippodrome, we were the only two who went into the Piano Bar for a coffee (others joined us before we left).
Not surprising we had very good service. The coffee was good and the environment was relaxing.

Pleasant surroundings before the crowds. The staff are very professional and pleasant.
Price of drinks are a rip off at show times and you can see their special offers behind the drink menu.
Let downs, the pianist looks bored and actually made mistakes, why not set the music to the event?
Toilets are in a poor condition, at one point the taps failed and I pointed it out to a member of staff who said she would report it to a supervisor, she didn’t. I suspect this is a regular problem. As for the dryers, they are disgustingly filthy and totally unhygienic, I suspect that Mr Dyson would not be impressed!
