Lovely town, but the street market is not taking place this year..has not come back yet since COVID forced it to close. There is just a small farmers market set up instead further away from the harbour...closer to the highway.

Sad to see the end of the Thursday evening street market. It was quite a draw from the GVRD. The new market at Mary Winspear is a shadow of the original. RIP Sidney Street Market!!

The hustle and bustle of the Sidney Street Market is the highlight of the summer for locals and visitors alike. Great entertainment, great food and lots of things to buy.

Local outdoor markets are always fun to walk through and this is no exception! Local fruits and vegetables, jams, baked goods, local art, street musicians, a food truck or two, locally made jewelry, one-of-a-kind crafts, and happy people wandering and chatting all leading down to the main pier.

There were three groups playing various styles of live music at different spots along the market. We found glorious fresh fruits and vegetables, tasty and varied food options and fun arts and crafts. The vibe was just terrific. Samples were available of many items The scones we got were worth the long wait. So wonderful! The only problem was finding a place to park.

A market with lots to see, eat & buy! This is definitely a good place to bring family and friends. There’s so much to see and so many happy people! Just be prepared to take your time and move slow. You don’t have a choice but move slow as there’s lots of people. I love buying the fresh vegetables.

I come to Sidney, every year,for a visit. The maret runs while i'm here and I don't miss it. The drinks and mini-donuts are a draw... but the vendors, weather and people are the draw.

Take one of the best Beach Glass Beaches in the world, add a view of the ocean, Islands and mountains only seen on postcards and then add a wonderful market offering everything you could imagine. Friendly people and shoppers of every age made this a great day! I bought clothes and food, exotic shells and rocks, more food and exquisite handmade gifts. Jewelry made from everything you could imagine presented in such a beautiful setting and secret techniques explained to all by the craftsmen themselves. Great for the kids with so many things to keep them busy and never a dull moment throughout the entire day. Bright colours and decor decorated the streets as entertainers and performers were around every corner. Flowers, unbelievable woodworking and handicrafts and the never get enough - MINI DONUTS. Just the very best day for the entire family with so much more to offer in the town itself. Then everyone can enjoy a walk on Glass Beach or out onto the pier to watch the seals enjoy a snack provided by a friendly seafood store. Absolutely a NOT TO MISS event! We went for the first time in 2018 and are packing today to take it in again in 2019 where it is said to be even bigger and better than ever.

We love to stroll up Beacon on Thursday evenings in the summer...! Lots of vendors with baking, fresh farm vegetables, loads of food vendor options, live music, and a summer party atmosphere. There is jewelry, clothing, accessories, preserves, cheeses, and even wine and beer options. There are usually three of four live music groups too (with appropriate spacing so one does not affect the other). Last year they had a couple of hot muscle cars on display to promote an upcoming big car show in downtown Sidney. Definitely a good draw for the crowds.
