Rangers and Volunteers were super helpful and very engaging. They provided great guidance for hikes and other park experiences. Nice gift shop as well.

Hours of operation are limited. Staff is friendly. The visitor center is very small. It has a shop with shirts and other items for sale.

While this visitor center is relatively small by NPS standards, it has everything that one would want out of a visitor center: park exhibits, friendly and helpful staff, maps/resources, restrooms, and a gift shop.
The exhibits pertaining to Virgin Islands National Park and the nearby Coral Reef National Monument were great and very informative. However, the two women working the visitor center when we visited were what really made our experience. They had answers to all of our questions and you could tell that they were really enthusiastic and passionate about the park. They even gave us dining recommendations in Cruz Bay!

Stopped in for info and the lady working there was very friendly and helpful and gave us several options for our questions.

We stopped in for park stickers and other souvenirs but they’re pretty limited. Not a ton of info and staff was less than friendly. There are bathrooms and a nice little spot outside where the kids saw chickens and played on a playground.

They close at 3 every day so if you are on the beach and aren't staying in Cruz bay you have to be sure to leave early to get there. They are not open on the weekends. They are not extremely motivated either so begin their close routine early so don't show up at 2:45 or you won't get any real help either. They don't print many items out to save paper, which is fine, but also don't post them online, to save ?? not sure what. So they have a schedule of things going on at Annandale estate but your only option is to memorize it or try to take a picture through glass on your cell phone which really doesn't work. I did see one ranger out of the office once, on easter sunday. he was giving a tickets to people parked at maho beach who were parked where people always park??

This should be your first stop especially if like us you are spending a week or so on the island. They helped us to map out our hikes and answered all of our questions in detail. There are bathrooms out side and they are clean . We got a pass for the day to park and did the hike to honeymoon bay .

Bathrooms and cold water for free. Very limited free parking. If you come early you can get a parking pass for the day and hike the Lind Point trail from here. Inside the rangers are very nice and there are maps available for a small fee. They also sell shirts, books, sunscreen (reef safe-very important!) and small souvenirs. There are group hikes that you can sign up for that do require advanced reservations

The staff was very helpful with advising on beaches, the safari buses, hiking trails and local eateries. Island maps available and even free postcards to mail the grandkids!

We took the ferry to St. John without really having any sort of plan for once we got there. After leaving the ferry, we walked around the shops for a bit but then really wanted to get to a beach without going too far away and paying a lot for taxi service. We started walking and then saw the visitor center. A visitor center never seems like a fun stop, but I'm so glad we checked it out! The employee was so helpful and explained all about the walking trails we could take to get to some nice beaches, and she showed us everything on a map. The entrance to the trails is right behind the visitor center. We were up for the walk and were able to get to Solomon Beach and Honeymoon Beach on foot, plus we got a nice hike, thanks to her info! Definitely take a few minutes and stop here first to get some ideas if you end up in St. John without a plan!

While we visit St. John's, I will need access to the internet in order to take a test, is the Visitor Center the best place for internet service? Library? Or where do you suggest?

Hello,
Looking for an all day cruise with snorkeling, drinks, and maybe lunch? Who do you recommend that picks up or leaves from St John? We are staying on the island, for the first time, the week after 4th of July. I would like more of a party boat feel than a private group. Any help you can offer would be very helpful!
