Hi, I can only speak for the Kaza Lodge where we stayed. We were with a Tour Company, but I know that Kaza Safari Lodge provides their own transportation from Kasane immigration building. It was a lovely lodge & the tours they provided were well worth it. I can't provide a link, but you can google it for more info.

Dear Chris, It would be hard to do in one day from Vic Falls, you have numerous ways to travel, either by road on either the Zim or the Zambian side, but you have to go through a few border posts to get to Impalila island and therefore it is time consuming. There are ways to get to Kasane from either Zimbabwe or Zambia - the quick option would be to hop on a small aircraft which would take about 20 minutes to get to Kasane, you would get picked up and taken to the river where you would go through another border checkpost before getting onto a boat which would take you to Impalila island, you would check into Nambia before heading to the lodge. The ferry crossing is from Zambia into Botswana over the Zambezi, that is very time consuming. I am in the aviation / tourism industry and have a host of guides either in Zimbabwe, Zambia or Botswana. If you are flying to the falls, my suggestion is ... let the guide meet you at the falls, after your few days there, let him take you by road to Kasane and then visit Impalila island for a few days after which he can either take you back to Victoria Falls or you can fly out from Kasane.
