Great value for money for the size and amount of animals they have. People forget they need to feed the animals, heat the buildings and pay their staff. Lots of different animals, you don’t see at other zoos, they all looked happy and healthy in very good sized and clean enclosures. Very helpful and knowledgeable staff. Good café, with good range and very good prices. Nice little shop. Lot of new buildings and enclosures going up, so look forward to visiting again soon.

Larger than I expected, animals seemed well cared for and enclosures were a decent size, the bears were having fun in the pond in the back which made me laugh. Pretty easy to navigate round and ok for people with mobility needs.
Word of warning if you want the disabled entry rate you need to take proof, even with being 40 and 3 foot 3 inches tall they wanted proof that I was disabled which I had to laugh about. It was fine the lady was very nice and polite when she asked.
Overall I liked the place and we had a really nice day. Lovely clean loo's and accessible loo's were big

Great day out with the family. This is a lovely little zoo with a good collection of animals, some are the only animals of their type in the UK.
It's clear that the animals come first as they have nice big and interesting enclosures that can make it hard to spot some of them especially in the English winter weather but i'd much prefer the animals were happier and we did a couple of laps and managed to see pretty much everything anyway.
We shall be back to support this business that is doing great work for conservation again soon.

Manager at ticket desk needs to learn people skills . Car park is a disaster. No disabled parking bays. My grandson has significant learning difficulties and wax not allowed in unless I proved his condition with a DLA letter . I could have paid full price for him but the felt the manager was so rude and unhelpful I went home v dissappointed and stressed. Never go there again .

I visited with my family and nephew as it’s its £18 a ticket for an adult and kid under three are free.
I’ve got to be honest, when we turned up I didn’t have high hopes, the car park looked abandoned and run down and the entrance seemed like you were walking into someone’s back garden.
But once we entered the zoo, I was pleasantly surprised. It opens up to a huge site with multiple routes for you to explore and a multitude of animals ranging from bears, cheetahs. meerkats and flamingos. As we went on a fairly cold day, a lot of the animals didn’t venture out of their indoor enclosures but that’s too be expected.
Unfortunately, there are no free maps available, you have to pay £3.99 if you’d like one, so we didn’t bother but I suppose it’s half the fun wandering around aimlessly. There’s a big outdoor play area on site which was closed due to weather conditions, which was a shame and slightly unusual as it wasn’t icy or raining. They have a train ride there which is £3.50 per person (children ride for free). It lasts around 10 minutes max and gives you the chance to closer to the cheetahs and tigers but unfortunately for us, they were all hiding away. A little tip, as the zoo closes at 16:00, if you stay from 15:00 onwards when the ‘crowd’ dies down, we noticed the animals came alive, so to speak and came out of hiding. So we got the chance of seeing the bears, dingo and the wolf.
The cafe was reasonably priced but I wouldn’t recommend eating here. The chips were frozen oven chips, the food came out cold and the coffee left a lot to be desired. I’d definitely suggest bringing a picnic, as they have an awful lot of tables dotted around the site.
Overall, a fun day out with the family and a good range of animals, but slightly let down by the faculties on the site, so we won’t be rushing back anytime soon.

Wonderful to see the wide range of birds and animals, especially the tigers. Unfortunately there was a long queue in the coffee shop and we had to wait nearly an hour to be served. We shall bring a picnic next time!

I think the zoo is great for those with little ones and it is reasonably priced compared with other zoos. We went around it in an hour but it was cold and most of the animals hadn't ventured out of their pens. It did look a little tired but we were out of season. I don't think we would return but wouldn't put anyone off visiting.

Such a lovely zoo! A huge variety of animals, all well looked after and fed (the raccoons very well fed!) Friendly helpful staff. Was a quiet weekday we visited and even though it was end of October the sun came out. Really excellent guide book too, which has a brilliant map at the back. Couldnt pick a favourite animal but Hula the giant anteater was impressive. The sheer variety of birds was astounding, from Vultures to Ibis to Kookaburra! It's quite a long way from us but will definitely make the effort to visit again. Top tip, take a picnic and sit in the lovely bamboo!!!

Great price to get into for the size of zoo, lots of animals to see, that other zoos do not have, all the animals looked healthy and happy and enclosures were good sizes and were clean, keepers very helpful and knew what they were talking about, café had good range of food at good prices.

No discount code that I am aware of but a straightforward reduction for senior citizens of one pound when you book online. Not sure about any other reductions.

You are more than welcome to bring your own picnic. There are plenty of places to sit around the Zoo or if the weather is not too great there is the undercover picnic area by the playground.

The whole Park is served by flat wide tarmac paths and roadways. Otherwise the site is laid to lawn.which is level and so very slightly sloping you would not notice. Car parks are grass and gravel.
