Overpriced, little or no tuition given, no proper advice on the "rules of the river" given.
Quite concerning how "safe" this set up is.
Never Seen Andrew on a boat himself, but he'll happily take your money, with a smile. Seems a case of "all the gear and no idea".
There are other places to hire a boat, at much better prices.

This review was not written by a paying customer of mine, if they are promoting cheaper places elsewhere to hire from, why did they come to mine??
That's the first give away..
They've pointed out everything you'd imagine someone looking to steer you elsewhere would point out, too well put together with lots of thought put into it ..
No mention of anytime actually spent in a canoe on the river ....no mention of how I do my safety briefing because they weren't there to have one... anyone thinking of using my hire service... please look at my gallery and reviews elsewhere..there are lots of them...I don't get bad reviews from paying customers...FACT!

We had a lovely canoe trip on the river today – Andrew was super helpful and went out of his way to accommodate us. He has lots of suggestions for routes, as well as places to eat and we fully intend to come back for longer to try them out! Overall, great value, fantastic service and a lovely peaceful stretch of river to enjoy. What more could you ask. Thank you!

We had a lovely time kayaking up & down the river on Sunday. Many thanks to Andrew for arranging the kayak hire for us. We will definitely return for another trip out.

Great fun at a great price, really enjoyed it. Lovely adventure up the river. I have used canoes off Andrew several times now.

Visited on 14th August. Andrew (the owner) is very accomodating and a nice guy, Boats are very clean and tidy and we spent two hours having a lovely time paddling around on the Ouse exploring small water channels and hidden away places we never knew existed! Would recommend 100%. Thank you!

Had a great time here nice solo paddle in kayak Andrew gave me all information on where to head for ,and what to see very helpful from start to finish , will be back before to long can't wait.

My girlfriend and I had a great time kayaking here yesterday. It was great! Andrew, the owner, is a really nice guy who takes real pride in the service he offers. The equipment and kayak was all great and Andrew and his partner made sure we were well prepared before heading out.

Joe the anticipation of meeting you after a couple of postponed canoe trips was well worth the wait, a perfect lady and gentleman....glad to hear you finally got to enjoy some quality time on the river... appreciate the kind words, look forward to seeing you again at some point, keep an eye on my Instagram page for exciting news next season.

We visited in July 21 for my birthday (yesterday)
We were meant to have 3 kayaks but due to covid there was only 3 adults and 3 children which wasn’t a problem.
Andrew was very welcoming and gave us a welcome talk about where to go and what to do.
He helped us in the boats which were great and the entry was in a beautiful setting.
We paddled along and saw lots of mini fish, a turtle and dragon flies.
It was beautiful from start to finish (even with a 4 year old screaming he might drown)
The 4 year old chilled on the way back due to being given fishing nets by the company which he and his brothers really enjoyed.
I would 100% recommend this for a family day our, hen do, adventure day for scouts and even a birthday
Treats for the kids (and birthday girl ) were fab on return and we got to picnic and play on the park afterwards

What an incredible day out! Booked a family day out on the canoe’s and Kayak, and couldn’t fault the experience from start to finish. Andrew was so helpful and accommodating when making changes to our bookings. He was really knowledgeable of the area and was able to advise us on good routes to take. The area was beautiful, the reservoir was stunning and we were able to row alongside the wildlife! There were plenty of spaces to moor up on route, with stunning pubs to stop off at for food and drink. We travelled to the area and it was so worth the journey! Highly recommend Millside Canoe Hire.
