I would describe this tour as a driving tour with many short stops. The longest stops were at the coffee farm, where our guide provided a catered breakfast, and at the winery, where he provided a catered lunch. Both of the meals were good quality, and the coffee farm was interesting, but the winery was a waste of time. I have never been rushed through six tastes so fast, and I have never tasted so many mediocre to bad wines in one place. I speculate that the winery is included on the trip only because they provide space for lunch.
Our guide, Jim, was pleasant and helpful -- a self-educated polymath with a broad knowledge of Hawaiian geology, history, biology, etc. The information he provided made the trip worthwhile.

Our guide,Alex, was the best from start to finish. Excellent historical and cultural information throughout. So May things to see and do- each wonderful! We were able to just lean into the many sights and just saturate in the beauty of the island. Black sand beaches with sea turtles lounging in the sand, a tour by Alex(he knows his way around coffee) of the coffee plantation with samples of course, wine tasting at a local vineyard paired with an delicious lunch catered by Alex who added the extra touch of tablecloths. Rainbow falls and a special stop for homemade Malasadas. Can’t say enough about this experience but Do It!

What a tour! This is such a great way to experience several must-see areas on the big island in a single day. Highlights included Greenwell coffee farm, seeing the Kiluea caldera and steam vents, and the drive up and over the saddle road between the two highest points on the island at sunset. Our tour guide, Alex, was exceptional. Great sense of humor and incredible depth of knowledge on all topics during the tour (especially coffee!). Be aware that the tour is very long, 11-12 hours, and includes quite a lot of driving. Still would 100% recommend for Big Island newcomers.

We had a great experience on our tour. A wonderful way to see the amazing sites on the island. Thia was our driver/guide. She was the best. Her enthusiasm and knowledge of the Island made the trip. We were treated in a caring and special way. Food, snacks, beverages...anything we wanted were at our disposal. I would highly recommend this tour.

The tour was excellent in all aspects: first and foremost our guide and driver Anson was absolutely wonderful - great explanations, backgrounds, most impressive breadth and depth of knowledge! From folklore stories and legends to geological history and present of this amazing island. The vehicle was very comfortable. Many breaks and points of interest on this pretty lengthy tour of 12 hours - the time went by without noticing - I learned a lot in a most enjoyable way!

We also stayed in Kona, the bus will pick you up at various hotels . just call and make a reservation. the Res. agents are very helpful, and make it easy to join the tour. Try it you will enjoy it!

The company picks you up @ your resort & it’s a full al day tour of the island with meals included at a nice pace. The issue with cruises you have to tour in hyper speed so you can get back on the ship. I would contact them directly maybe they could do a special tour for the cruise ship so it wouldn’t be a concern. There # 1-808-938-4057, Grant Mitchell was our Adventure Guide he was amazing.

This tour is on Hawaii Island (aka, the Big Island). You'd need to first plan a trip to the Hawaii Island from Oahu. I would suggest you call the company and figure out if the meeting points (they have a few pick up locations) work with where you are staying. I choose a trip that starts on the Kona (west) side of the island.
