Wonderful Tour of Barolo / Barbaresco

Our guide Nicola picked us up at our hotel in Asti in a new model spacious car. Our day consisted of a morning tour and tasting at "Ca' del Baio" winery in Barbaresco followed by a lunch at a wonderful restaurant Nicola selected and then a tour/tasting at "Ettore Germano" winery in Serralungu d'Alba. Nicola was very knowledgeable of Piemonte wine and food. The tours and tastings were very informative, and the views of the Langhe countryside were breathtaking. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our time on this tour.

Great day with a very knowledgeable and professional guide

A memorable day with Matteo. Met all our excpectations and he made a pretty tailormade trip. Matteo is very professional within food and winebusiness, and on facts about the Piedmont area. Safe driver (!) Would surely book him again next time we go to Piedmont and fully recommend his service. Very good value for the money spent.

wonderful way to do a wine tour and see the region

we had a great day with Matteo, visiting 3 distictive vineyards, great tasting experience at all 3 with the local hosts being knowledgable, professional and enthusiastic. Matteo is also a great host who rose to the challenge of finding us vineyards with a good selection of white as well as red wines.

His choice of lunch venue was also great.

Definitely the way to do a wine tour.

Wonderful day of wineries!!

Matteo was a wonderful knowledgeable and delightfully personable guide. He took the 4 of us to wonderful wineries and a great lunch. He even took us to a place to ship our wine, and brought a forgotten hat to us the next day. We highly recommend him, and would use him again!

Wonderful experience!

We went to 3 wineries, which was the perfect amount. We could have 3 distinct experiences, all with welcoming hosts and of course, delicious wine. Matteo was warm, knowledgeable, and fun to spend the day with. We learned so much about wine and viticulture. The views and scenery were incredible. Thank you, Matteo!

Two great days of wine tours!

We spent two full days with Matteo in mid-September, touring Alba and Barolo and surroundings. We went to great producers, but Matteo's commentary and advice was what made the experience so wonderful. He took us to a variety of winemakers (our favorites were Prunotto, Damilano and Pira), which he tailored to what we specifically had requested to focus on, and he gave great suggestions as to how wines we were buying would develop over time. He also gave us great assistance combining our purchases and arranging shipment. A highlight was seeing Castello di Serralunga, and lunch.

We can't recommend Matteo highly enough!!

Best wine tour ever.
Matteo is relaxed, friendly and deeply knowledgeable. He arranged the day for a full tasting experience, with interactions with the wine makers, walking the vines, and gaining an understanding of the nebbiolo grape made into amazing wines. Lunch was memorable as well in a tiny wine- focused cafe.

Great day out in amazing scenery with great wine - not much is better

Excellent communications with Matteo with what was a last minute decision to visit Alba. Great way of seeing the fabulous scenery of both areas whilst visiting some smaller wineries and being shown around and enjoying the tastings with the owners.
Great stop for lunch, not included, but booked by Matteo, who also advised on local hotel and restaurants for our stay. We didn't have much luggage room but are hoping to return to this fantastic area to buy some more wine. Matteo was very knowledgeable about all aspects of the area and food and wine in general and a delightful guide.

A perfect day in wine country

We took a one day tour in September and it could not have been better. We are very experienced in wine touring, tasting, and buying on our own at home so we did not know what to expect going in. It turned out to be perfect. Matteo took us to a perfect selection of wineries (Ca' Del Baio, Pira, Produttori, and Aurelio Settimo) that showed some of the variety that both Barberesco and Barolo can offer in location and style of wine making. It was also appreciated that they were smaller family owned wineries (except for Produttori of course) and that we got personal tastings the family members themselves. Matteo definitely knows his stuff when it comes to wine growing, wine making and the wine business, and is a perfect ambassador for showing how wonderful the Piemonte is. Also the place in La Morra that we went to lunch at (Osteria More e Macine), was better perfect. It was just a shame that we were wine tasting in the afternoon or we would have sampled more from their wine list. Matteo was also kind enough to provide a totally clear blue sky day to enjoy the scenery. At the end of the day he also took us to the wine shipping company in Alba and within 10 minutes our wine was out of our hands and was in Seattle in only 2 days. Our only regret is that we did not sign up for a 2 day tour.

Superb and amazing experience of Barolo and Barbaresco wines - A must do!

If you are looking to explore wines of the Langhe, you must contact Matteo Mantegazza and Langaround. There is no one better to have as your tour guide. Matteo's experience as a sommelier, professional chef, and as an owner of an Enoteca renders him uniquely positioned to offer insights and experiences that take you deep into the wines of the region, the passion of its producers, and the different styles of wine making that each winery offers.

We spent two fabulous and amazing days with Matteo visiting six different wineries in Barolo and Barbaresco. The lunches he arranged at Campamac and Vinoteca Centro Storico during our two days featured innovative and delicious selections of Piemontese cuisine that were unbelievably sublime.

Matteo crafts each tour to your specific desires and objectives. He arranges transportation so you don't have to worry about driving, leaving you free to soak in the beautiful scenery between wineries.. He communicates clearly and follows up with you during the planning process so your experience is truly bespoke. Matteo is a delight and a treasure to have at your side while experiencing some truly amazing and hidden gems of Barolo and Barbaresco. We will definitely contact Matteo for future tours.
